What is hypoproteinemia?

Hazards of hypoproteinemia

The most obvious manifestation of hypoproteinemia is edema.
A decrease in plasma albumin can allow a large amount of water to permeate into tissue spaces, leading to a dystrophic disease characterized by systemic edema, also known as edematous malnutrition. The main manifestation is severe edema, symmetrical on both sides, with the most significant edema in the limbs.
