What if you don't want to get pregnant unexpectedly? What contraceptive methods are better for contraception
Everyone has different views on contraception. Some people believe that contraception measures can affect sexual experience, while others believe that contraception measures must be taken, otherwise it can easily lead to unintended pregnancy. Although this is a personal choice, contraceptive measures must be taken to protect the female body.
What are the contraceptive measures available?
1. Condoms
Condoms are the most common contraceptive method, with a success rate of over 90%. Using condoms for contraception can prevent the spread of many sexually transmitted diseases and truly achieve safety. When purchasing condoms, it is important to pay attention to the size of the condom and avoid buying too large or too small, as this may lead to contraceptive failure. Never choose an ultra-thin condom, as if the action is too intense, it can easily damage the condom. In addition, before using a condom, it is necessary to check if the condom has expired and if the outer packaging of the condom is damaged, so that the condom can be used again.
2. Short acting oral contraceptive pills
Contraceptives can be divided into long-term contraceptives, short-term contraceptives, and emergency contraceptives, with short-term oral contraceptives being the safest and most effective. Short acting oral contraceptives are not only convenient to use, but also improve symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, menstrual irregularities, and anemia. They also have a certain effect on preventing ovarian and endometrial cancer. However, there is also a downside, which is that short-term oral contraceptives must be taken every day. For some people with poor memory, it is indeed not easy to operate and an alarm clock needs to be set to avoid forgetting.
3. Intrauterine device
Wearing an intrauterine device (IUD) is also a common contraceptive method for women, especially married women. The intrauterine device is placed inside the body to ensure the safety of long-term sexual activity. There are two types of intrauterine devices: 5-year and 10-year, which can be selected according to one's own needs. It should be noted that one should go to a reputable hospital to place an intrauterine device, as this is for their own health. If a woman has a pregnancy plan, removing the contraceptive ring can also restore fertility, which is a reversible contraceptive measure that can be safely used.
4. Sterilization
Both men and women can undergo sterilization, and this method of contraception is once and for all. If you do not plan to have children in the future, you can undergo sterilization surgery. If you have a family planning plan in the future, you should not use this contraceptive method. Men can recover after ligation, but women cannot recover after ligation, so careful consideration should be given before sterilization.
