What causes excessive menstrual flow? What are the consequences of excessive menstruation
Excessive menstruation is an abnormal phenomenon and a multifaceted cause of irregular menstruation, which is also very harmful to women. It is necessary to pay attention to the causes of the disease.
Causes of excessive menstruation
1. Neuroendocrine dysfunction is mainly caused by unstable or defective hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis function.
2. Ovarian problems: Women of childbearing age often experience menstrual irregularities due to poor luteal function of the ovaries and frequent menstrual bleeding.
3. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, etc
It includes local inflammation of reproductive organs, tumors, dysplasia, malnutrition and other endocrine dysfunction of intracranial diseases, such as thyroid, adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Schiehain's disease and other blood diseases of liver diseases. People who use medication, endocrine agents, or intrauterine devices to treat mental illness may experience excessive menstruation.
4. Improper contraceptive method:
(1) Intrauterine device
The intrauterine device is a commonly used contraceptive method, and its most prominent problems are shortened menstrual cycle, prolonged menstrual cycle, significantly increased menstrual volume, and post menstrual bleeding.
(2) Contraceptive pills
If the contraceptive pill is not taken according to the instructions, or if taken incorrectly, it can easily cause disorders in the body's reproductive hormone levels, affect the development of the endometrium, and cause abnormal bleeding
5. Other factors include changes in climate and seasons, changes in living environment, emotional tension, excessive fatigue, improper diet, and sometimes excessive menstruation.
Possible diseases due to excessive menstruation
1. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding: Functional uterine bleeding, abbreviated as functional blood, refers to menstrual disorders without organic lesions, such as irregular menstruation, excessive menstrual volume, prolonged menstruation, incomplete dripping, irregular vaginal bleeding, and severe bleeding.
2. Uterine fibroids: Uterine fibroids are common genital tumors in women of childbearing age, with a high incidence rate. Excessive menstruation is commonly seen in two types of uterine fibroids: intramuscular and submucosal.
3. Chronic disc inflammation: Disc inflammation is a common cause of abnormal vaginal bleeding. When inflammation occurs, local blood vessels become brittle, menstrual bleeding is difficult to coagulate, menstrual volume increases, and menstrual period prolongs.
4. Endometriosis: Simply put, endometriosis is the appearance of tissue that originally grows in the inner layer of the uterine wall at other locations. These "ectopic" endometrium interfere with various normal functions of the reproductive organs, often accompanied by symptoms such as prolonged menstruation and excessive menstruation.
