Traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations for tonifying the kidney of men with kidney yang deficiency
Generally speaking, Yang deficiency mainly focuses on the three organs of the heart, spleen, and kidney, and its central and spleen Yang deficiency is treated with a "warming agent". Kidney Yang deficiency is the main treatment for this type of formula. Patients may have pale complexion, cold limbs, soreness in the waist and knees, weakness in the lower limbs, difficulty urinating, frequent urination, residual urine, urgency in the abdomen, male impotence and premature ejaculation, female infertility due to palace cold, pale tongue coating, thin pulse, and particularly severe ulnar region. Commonly used yang tonifying drugs such as Aconite, Cinnamomum cassia, Morinda officinalis, Cistanche deserticola, Xianling spleen, deer antler glue, Xianmao, etc., are combined with diuretic and yin tonifying products, and representative formulas such as Shenqi Pills and Yougui Pills.
Kidney Qi Pill. The symptoms are lumbago and weakness of the feet. There is often a cold feeling below half of the body, less abdominal cramps, poor urination, or more urine, especially at night, impotence and premature ejaculation, pale and fat tongue, weak pulse, and thin feet. In addition, Shenqi Pills can also treat phlegm retention, edema, thirst, etc. At present, in clinical practice, Shenqi Pills are mostly used to treat chronic nephritis, diabetes, aldosteronism, hypothyroidism, neurasthenia, adrenal cortex dysfunction, chronic bronchial asthma, menopausal syndrome and other patients with insufficient kidney yang.
In the formula, aconite has a great deal of heat and is the top of all herbs for warming yang; Cinnamon twigs are sweet and warm, which is the necessary medicine for warming and promoting yang qi; The combination of the two drugs, tonifying the deficiency of kidney yang, and assisting in the recovery of qi, is the sovereign medicine. However, the kidney is a viscera of water and fire, containing the yuan yin and yuan yang. The decline of the yin and yang side will inevitably lead to yin loss and yang, or yang loss and yin. Moreover, kidney yang deficiency generally has a long course of disease and can develop from kidney yin deficiency. If yang is only replenished without considering yin, yang cannot be attached and the ability to warm up cannot be exerted. Therefore, the use of Rehmannia glutinosa to nourish the yin and kidney, combined with Cornus officinalis and yam to nourish the liver and spleen and benefit essence and blood, is commonly used as official medicine. The combination of monarch and minister, tonifying the kidney and filling essence, warming the kidney and assisting yang, not only can enhance the power of tonifying yang by seeking yang in yin, but also the softness of yang medicine can make it warm but not dry, and the warmth and smoothness of yin medicine can make it nourishing but not greasy. The two complement each other. The herbs used to tonify yang in the formula are small in quantity and light in quantity, while the herbs used to nourish yin are heavy in quantity. It can be seen that the purpose of the cube is not to forcefully tonify the yuan yang, but to slightly ignite fire and stimulate the kidney qi, which means "less fire and vitality". Then, Zexie and Fuling are used to promote water and dampness, while Guizhi is also good at warming phlegm and drinking; Danpi is bitter and bitter, but cold. It is adept at entering the blood system. Combining with cinnamon twigs can regulate the stagnation of blood system. The three herbs are combined to promote diarrhea and tonify, and may be used to treat various yin medicines, which may help damp and hinder evil. When combined with various medicines, it helps to weaken the yang and turn it into water, nourishes the deficiency of yin and turns it into vitality, elevates the kidney yang, and normalizes the qi. This will lead to the self elimination of all symptoms. Due to the warming and tonifying effect of Shenqi Pill on kidney yang, it is not suitable to use Shenqi Pill for patients with dry throat, dry mouth, restlessness, red tongue, and less coating. In addition, those with kidney yang deficiency and normal urination are considered pure deficiency without evil and should not use this formula.
