The prostate is the largest accessory gland in male organs. The prostate is located at the lower back of the bladder, which is just at the bottom of the human pelvis, near the perineum. If you don't pay attention when riding a bicycle, it will over-stimulate the prostate, make it swollen, congested or damaged, and the prostate fluid will not be excreted smoothly, resulting in prostate inflammation.
Prostatitis caused by cycling is mainly caused by incorrect riding posture. If the seat is too high, it is not suitable for the rider's short stature, which not only makes the body uncomfortable and the movement difficult to coordinate, but also makes the perineum and the seat constantly rub because the rider can only swing up and down, left and right. Especially if the front of the seat is high and the center of gravity of the cyclist is behind, or the road is rough and bumpy when the car is driving, it is easier to stimulate the perineum, causing prostate congestion, swelling and injury.
When the prostate is inflamed, the early manifestations are mainly the swelling or pain of the perineum, the feeling of falling of the anus, and sometimes a little white liquid drips out of the urethra after urination. Over time, it can also cause hypertrophy of the prostate. The enlarged prostate compresses the urethra, resulting in poor urination, weak urination, thin urination lines, bifurcations and even intermittent urination. It is difficult for patients to urinate completely every time, so the number of urination increases, especially at night.
In order to prevent prostatitis caused by cycling, the most important thing is to adjust the position of the seat. The height of the seat should be moderate. The seat should preferably be cushioned. The front part of the seat should be slightly lower than the rear part. People who often ride bicycles should give up smoking and alcohol to avoid aggravating prostate congestion. After a long ride, you can take a hot seat bath (water temperature is about 40 ℃) to promote local blood circulation. If the prostate has early mild inflammation, you should stop cycling. If the symptoms are obvious, you should find a doctor for treatment as soon as possible.
