According to the Daily Mail of the UK, researchers have found a certain link between the use of mobile phones and male erectile dysfunction. Men who use their phones for more than 4 hours a day are prone to erectile dysfunction.
Twenty male patients with functional impairments (group a) and ten healthy males (group b) were surveyed. The researchers asked them to complete a male health survey and evaluate their function based on the International Erectile Function Index.
Research has shown that there is not much difference in their age, weight, smoking habits, phone talk time, and testosterone (a type of male hormone). However, sick men do hold their phones in their pockets or hands for much longer than healthy men - the former lasts 4.4 hours per day, while the latter only lasts 1.8 hours.
Research leader Baderedin Mohamad Al Ali said that this prospective experimental study suggests a possible relationship between mobile phone use and erectile dysfunction. Compared to strong radiation with short phone times, all the time and effects of contact with mobile phones are more severe.
The results of this study were published in the Central European Journal of Urology, and recently the Environmental Health Trust specifically reported on the link between mobile phones and fertility.
In the study of the impact of mobile phones on male semen parameters, there is evidence that the use of mobile phones can affect the quality of sperm, including its kinetic energy and morphology. Researchers emphasize that due to the uncertainty of the relationship between erectile dysfunction and sperm quality, a lot of work needs to be done to investigate more men for research.
