Too little sperm is the main reason for many men to suffer from infertility. But a new study shows that men can't be fathers if they are too powerful and have too many sperm.
According to the Daily Mail of the UK, 1/6 of British couples fail to conceive successfully every year, and about 35000 women need to become mothers through in vitro fertilization. After research, Oren Hasen, an evolutionary biologist at Tel Aviv University in Israel, believes that this has a lot to do with male sperm. Just the pressure of life, the impact of disease and environmental pollution are not enough to explain the high infertility rate of men.
He infers that the reason for some male infertility is that the number of sperm is too large and the vitality is too strong. These brave "elite soldiers" crossed the defense line leading to the egg together, resulting in the phenomenon of "more sperm into the egg", which seriously interfered with the normal fertilization process of the egg.
Professor Hasen pointed out that in the long process of evolution, the reproductive system of men and women has been changing subtly. The female reproductive system has strengthened its defense ability against sperm, while the male sperm is also constantly cultivating "internal skills" to penetrate the female defense line with stronger vitality. If the evolution of the two sexes is in step, the success rate of fertilization will increase. Otherwise, there will be problems. Whether the sperm is too much or not enough, it will make it difficult for women to conceive.
