Sexual Health
Sixty percent of men are experiencing kidney deficiency, impotence, and premature ejaculation, and you don't pay attention to it yet.
How high is the proportion of male kidney deficiency in Guangdong? What is the relationship between the proportion of men suffering from kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation, and impotence, and their income and educational background? A few days ago, the Reproductive Medicine Professional Committee of the Guangdong Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine released the "Guangdong Male Kidney Health Survey Report", which provides answers to these questions one by one.
The report interviewed more than 2000 men aged between 25 and 55 in different regions of Guangdong Province in the form of questionnaires. The results showed that the prevalence rate of kidney deficiency and related diseases among men aged 25 to 55 years in Guangdong Province reached 51.73%. The male population with high income and low education background was even more severely affected by kidney deficiency, impotence, and premature ejaculation. It is worth noting that more than 60% of men who encounter problems such as kidney deficiency, impotence, or premature ejaculation do not seek medical attention, but first seek food therapy and health products.
Overview:
More than half of Guangdong men experience kidney health problems
According to reports, the subjects of this survey were men aged 25 to 55 in Guangdong Province. The survey areas included Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Qingyuan, and Shantou, and was jointly completed by eight major member units of the Reproductive Medicine Professional Committee of the Guangdong Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to the professor, the survey was conducted in the form of questionnaires. During the period from July to August this year, a total of 2500 questionnaires were issued, 2137 of which were recovered, and 1898 were valid.
The survey results show that the phenomenon of kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation, and impotence in men in Guangdong is not optimistic. Especially in the 41 to 55 year old age group, the proportion of kidney deficiency is 56.3%, the proportion of premature ejaculation is 46.3%, and the proportion of impotence is 51.2%, all close to or above the half level. Even in the relatively young age group of 25-30, the proportion of kidney deficiency is as high as 45%, while the proportion of premature ejaculation and impotence is 47% and 38%, respectively.
"Kidney is a relatively large concept in the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine, involving multiple systems such as human reproduction, endocrine, and urinary systems, as well as the functions of some nerves and blood vessels." Kidney deficiency in traditional Chinese medicine refers to the deficiency of kidney essence, qi, yin, and yang. There are many types of kidney deficiency, the most common of which are kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency. "Kidney yang deficiency generally causes symptoms such as low back pain, chills in limbs, stomach cold, decreased libido, and edema. Kidney yin deficiency can cause problems such as low back pain, sweating in hands and feet, night sweating, dizziness, and tinnitus." The treatment methods for the two types of kidney deficiency are different, and it is necessary to treat them based on syndrome differentiation.
The highest prevalence rate occurs when the monthly income exceeds 10000 yuan
The survey also drew some noteworthy conclusions through analysis of the data. For example, the prevalence of kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation, and impotence among men in Guangdong Province increases with income. Among them, Guangdong men with a monthly income of more than 10000 yuan have the highest prevalence rates of kidney deficiency and impotence, reaching 55.78% and 47.84%, respectively, which are 7 percentage points and nearly 5 percentage points higher than those of men with an income of less than 5000 yuan.
At the same time, the above prevalence rate also presents a significant negative correlation with the educational background of the respondents. Among them, the prevalence rates of kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation, and impotence among men with high school education or lower are over 50%, surpassing those of other people with higher education. Professor Zhang Bin from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University analyzed that high-income people have a faster pace of life and greater work pressure, so the prevalence rate is higher than that of low-income people. At the same time, people with low educational background have less understanding of sexual education and health care, leading to a higher incidence of kidney deficiency, impotence, and other issues.
It is worth mentioning that the prevalence of premature ejaculation among men with master's degree is more serious than that of impotence and kidney deficiency, reaching 45.2%. Zhou Shaohu believes that this may be due to the high level of education of this group, as well as the high quality requirements for sexual life for them and their partners, which has instead led to psychological stress during sexual life, leading to frequent "patronization" of premature ejaculation.
Regional VS Prevalence:
Men in Guangzhou and Shenzhen have more severe kidney deficiency
There are also regional differences in male reproductive health issues. Taking kidney deficiency as an example, the prevalence rate of men aged 41 to 55 years in Guangzhou-Shenzhen region is as high as 67.74%, 13 percentage points higher than 56.30% in other regions of Guangdong. There is also male menopause. The survey found that the prevalence rate of men over 40 years of age in Guangzhou and Shenzhen is 43.59%, far higher than 37.28% in other regions of Guangdong.
"This phenomenon is not difficult to understand. The pace of life of urban people in Guangzhou and Shenzhen can be seen from their footsteps. The fast paced and stressful urban life has to some extent affected the health of these men in terms of gender and reproduction."
Expert reminder:
Okra does not nourish the kidney and strengthen yang
The survey also conducted statistics on the kidney tonifying methods of Guangdong men, and found that diet or health products were the preferred method of kidney tonifying, accounting for 45.23%, followed by drugs. In response, experts such as Zhou Shaohu suggest that when symptoms of mild kidney deficiency occur, they can promote the recovery of the disease by changing their lifestyle, adjusting their work and rest, improving their dietary structure, etc. However, if the symptoms are serious, they should seek medical attention from a regular hospital as soon as possible.
Recently, the post "Yellow okra can nourish the kidney and strengthen the yang" has been popular on WeChat, attracting a large number of diners. It is said that this dish can nourish the kidney and strengthen yang, commonly known as "plant Viagra", so it is valuable. The asking price of a dish is even hundreds of yuan. In response, Zhou Shaohu stated that okra itself has the effect of clearing away dampness and heat, and its main uses are to aid digestion, protect the intestines and stomach, reduce blood lipids, etc. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is not a kidney tonic and yang enhancing drug. Although okra does contain a certain amount of plant hormones, its content is very small. Even if you eat 100 kilograms of okra through gastrointestinal digestion, the amount of plant hormones that can be absorbed by the body is already very small, naturally not to mention the plant "Viagra".
He reminded that tonifying the kidney and strengthening the yang is a gradual process and cannot be achieved quickly. Those kidney tonifying drugs on the market that claim to have quick effects and strengthening the yang are likely to have illegally added Western medicine ingredients such as sildenafil, and long-term use is very harmful to the body. He suggested that, in terms of diet, men should appropriately eat more food such as sea cucumber, hippocampus, oyster, gecko, royal jelly, and swim bladder. These foods are rich in amino acids and are effective powerful foods, while walnuts, almonds, chestnuts, and leeks can also be used for daily dietotherapy.
