Simple vulvitis is a type of female vulvitis, which is also a common gynecological inflammation. After getting sick, patients may also experience some symptoms, and we need to check and judge in a timely manner.
Symptoms of simple vulvitis
1. Symptoms of the external genitalia: itching, pain, or burning sensation in the external genitalia, which worsens during walking, labor, cycling, sexual intercourse, and urination.
2. Abnormal skin of the external genitalia: The skin of the external genitalia is congested, red and swollen, with increased exudate, scars, and sometimes ulceration, skin rupture, blisters, papules, and eczema. After a long course of disease, the skin thickens, becomes rough, changes in color, and even causes skin cracking.
3. Excessive vaginal discharge: Some female patients often notice an increase in vaginal discharge, which appears as pus like.
4. Pain during sexual intercourse: When folliculitis occurs in the external genitalia of a woman or due to the presence of an abscess, it can cause high swelling and pain in the external genitalia, leading to the formation of boils and accompanied by symptoms such as painful urination and sexual intercourse.
5. Redness, swelling, and congestion: During the acute phase of vulvitis, there may be redness, swelling, and congestion, as well as symptoms such as itching, cracking, congestion, erosion, and eczema.
6. Mucosal congestion: Women with vulvitis may experience varying degrees of swelling and congestion in the skin and mucosa of the vulva. In severe cases, they may also experience varying degrees of erosion and ulcers, or symptoms such as eczema.
7. Pruritus of the external genitalia: The most common symptom of vulvitis is itching of the skin of the external genitalia, with burning sensation and pain, especially worsening after activity, sexual intercourse, and urination.
Diagnosis of simple vulvitis
1. Look, you can use a small mirror and place it under the vulva. Move the mirror back, forth, left, and right to take care of it. With the help of the mirror, observe your vulva. In addition, by observing the color, clarity, and thickness of vaginal secretions such as vaginal discharge and menstrual blood, thread marks can also be found.
2. Smell is the use of the nose to smell secretions, menstrual blood, or the odor of the external genitalia. The normal odor is a light fishy, sweaty, or odorless odor. If there is a fishy odor, putrid odor, or special odor, it may cause problems.
3. When touching, wash your hands first and use the fingertips of your index and middle fingers (commonly referred to as the fingertips) to touch the external genitalia from top to bottom, starting from the genital area and continuing until the anus.
