How to deal with recurrent eczema of the external genitalia? Reasonable treatment is the key
Vulvar eczema is a gynecological disease and one of the diseases that we should pay attention to. Its appearance seriously affects the life and work of patients, especially endangers health. Therefore, thorough treatment should be emphasized.
Causes of recurrent eczema of the external genitalia
1. Vulvar eczema is a common allergic and inflammatory skin disease of the vulva, with a clear tendency to exudate. It is generally believed to be caused by type IV allergic reactions. Its main characteristics are multiform skin damage, recurrent attacks, symmetrical occurrence, and severe itching. Eczema has scabs, and when the condition improves and recovers, the skin does not leave any scars.
2. The warmth and dampness of the skin not only promote the growth and reproduction of bacteria, but also cause itching, as under continuous moist conditions, the skin becomes more sensitive to various stimuli. At the same time, the external genitalia is close to the vagina, urethral opening, and anus, and is prone to bacterial contamination. Therefore, fungi, bacteria, and their metabolites are common pathogenic factors for external genital eczema.
What to do with external genital eczema
When there is itching in the external genitalia, the affected area should be regularly cleaned, dried, and observed for two to three days. If the itching persists, it is best to seek medical attention. Once diagnosed with external genital eczema, medication should be used according to the doctor's prescription, and attention should be paid to eliminating local irritants, such as keeping the genital area clean to prevent the external genitalia from being pickled. Be careful when replacing sanitary napkins or strips. Underwear should choose cotton products with good breathability. Do not use belts or triangular scarves to restrain the genitals, prevent contraception, and rub.
