Does every woman have pelvic fluid accumulation? How much is normal for pelvic fluid accumulation
Pelvic fluid accumulation is a common gynecological disease in women, and its appearance causes special concern for many women. It is also a disease that we need to pay attention to and must be treated according to our own situation under the guidance of a doctor.
Do all women have pelvic fluid accumulation
Many women undergo regular physical examinations, and gynecological ultrasound examination is one of the important items in gynecological examination, which can display the size, shape, pelvic mass, and other lesions of internal reproductive organs such as the uterus and ovaries. Sometimes the report may show results such as a small amount of fluid accumulation in the uterine and rectal fossa, and a small amount of fluid accumulation in the pelvic cavity, which does make some women feel nervous.
But whether pelvic fluid accumulation needs treatment depends on the size of the fluid accumulation. Usually, there is a small amount of fluid in the pelvic and abdominal cavities, which mainly lubricates the surface of organs, reduces friction between organs, and has a certain defensive function. In addition, on the ovulation day of each month, follicular fluid flows into the pelvic and abdominal cavity after follicle rupture, and ultrasound examination also indicates a small amount of fluid accumulation in the uterine and rectal fossa. In addition, a slight influx of menstrual blood into the abdominal cavity during menstruation can also cause a small amount of pelvic fluid accumulation. A small amount of fluid accumulation in the uterine and rectal fossa is a normal physiological phenomenon, and there is no need to worry too much. First, consider whether the ultrasound examination time is during menstruation and ovulation, and if necessary, check again. Generally speaking, physiological pelvic fluid accumulation can be absorbed on its own and does not require treatment. Do not blindly take antibiotics and traditional Chinese medicine for clearing heat and removing dampness to avoid overuse of antibiotics and drugs.
Normal pelvic fluid accumulation
The normal value of pelvic fluid accumulation is less than 10MM, according to experts. Pelvic fluid accumulation can be divided into physiological and pathological types. Physiological pelvic fluid accumulation is less than 10 millimeters. In women, during menstruation and the first few days after the physiological period, some menstrual blood may flow back into the pelvic cavity along the fallopian tubes, and ultrasound will show a small amount of fluid accumulation. After ovulation in women, follicular fluid may also flow into the pelvis, usually in small amounts, and a few people can see it under ultrasound. These two situations generally do not affect the body, disappear on their own, and do not require treatment.
Pathological pelvic effusion generally exceeds 10mm, at which point pelvic effusion is severe. Most pelvic fluid accumulation is caused by inflammation, that is, chronic pelvic inflammatory exudation. Regarding pathological pelvic effusion, attention should be paid and timely treatment is crucial.
