The prepuce operation is a routine local anesthesia operation in the operating room of our hospital. It has the advantages of safety, short operation time, less bleeding, rapid postoperative recovery, and no need for hospitalization. Because there are many patients with this type of operation, and it is a key part of the operation, self-care after the operation, patients and their families worry and consult more. The common problems and precautions after prepuce operation are described as follows:
After the operation, we found incision pain. What happened and how to deal with it?
Postoperative incision pain is generally tolerable, especially 30~60 minutes after surgery, and the pain will improve after 30~60 minutes. The degree of pain varies according to the level of individual pain threshold. Secondly, erection at night will also cause pain within 1-3 days after operation, and the penis will return to normal after weakness.
(Ice cubes, ice towels, etc. are placed on the inner side of the thigh to cool down, which can quickly stimulate the weakness of the penis and avoid the over-thickness and overheating of the cover). Generally, it is not recommended to take painkillers, and it is recommended to rest on the day of operation to avoid discomfort caused by excessive walking.
How to deal with incision bleeding after operation?
Hemorrhage usually occurs within 2 hours after operation and after erection at night. If the amount of bleeding is small, only a small part of the red gauze can be observed, and the bleeding can be stopped automatically. If the incision bleeding continues, the scope of gauze staining increases gradually, the gauze drips out, the penis is swollen and deformed, or the patient cannot determine the wound condition, please go to the hospital immediately.
How to urinate after operation?
Due to the pressure bandage after the operation to prevent edema and bleeding, some patients will have painful urination, labor, bifurcated or scattered urine, and deviation, which is normal. The elastic bandage can be removed 3 days after the operation to restore normal.
Children are prone to tight bandage and cannot urinate. It is recommended to urinate once after operation before leaving the hospital. If they cannot urinate, ask the surgeon to adjust the tightness of the elastic bandage. Do not adjust bleeding or hematoma by themselves. When urinating within 3 days, lean forward as much as possible to avoid urine flowing onto gauze. It is recommended to wipe the residual urine at the urethral orifice with toilet paper or dry cloth after each urination to keep the gauze dry and clean. If the gauze is obviously wet, go to the hospital for dressing change in advance.
How to do if there is prepuce edema after operation?
Edema and subcutaneous ecchymosis after prepuce operation are normal phenomena, which have no effect on the recovery of incision. Generally, the coronary groove under the urethral orifice is obvious. Routine bandage for 3 days after operation to reduce edema and bleeding, generally without special treatment. After 2-4 weeks, the prepuce edema will gradually subside, but there will also be a few patients with a long time of prepuce edema after surgery, which is caused by the destruction of the original circulation after surgery. The edema will not disappear until the new circulation is established.
How is there exudate on the wound after operation? How to deal with it?
After the operation, there will be increased yellow-white secretion at the glans, coronal groove and incision, and scab and blackening. Most of the children with phimosis were found. Most of the family members mistook it for infection. The secretion was fibrin exudate, not pus. It can be used externally to spray wine on the part, dip it with a cotton swab and gently wipe off the secretion. It is not allowed to forcibly peel off the blood scab, and keep it dry and clean until it falls off naturally.
Infection rarely occurs after circumcision. Because the blood supply of the penis is good and the anti-infection ability is relatively strong, antibiotics are generally given to prevent infection after operation, and local dryness and cleanness are required.
