Prostatitis is referred to as a "male killer" in modern male images. The reason for saying this is because prostatitis has already had a serious impact on the health of contemporary men. When men suffer from prostatitis, it can cause urinary disorders and also affect sexual activity between couples. So how should men be treated when they suffer from prostatitis?
Prostatitis requires comprehensive treatment based on symptoms
Many male patients are concerned that they may miss the optimal treatment time due to not taking timely treatment measures, thereby delaying treatment. It is stated that there is no optimal treatment time for prostatitis, and patients need to go to a regular hospital for systematic comprehensive treatment. Different types of prostatitis have different treatment methods.
Type I (acute bacterial prostatitis) is mainly treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics. Once clinical diagnosis or blood and urine culture results are obtained, antibiotics should be immediately applied. It is recommended to start with intravenous injection of antibiotics, and after the patient's symptoms such as fever improve, oral medication is recommended for at least 4 weeks of treatment. Patients with mild symptoms should also use antibiotics for 2-4 weeks.
Type II (chronic bacterial prostatitis) is mainly treated with oral antibiotics, with a course of 4-6 weeks. Optional α- Receptor blockers improve urination symptoms and pain. Plant preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, and M-receptor blockers can also improve related symptoms.
Type IIIA (inflammatory chronic prostatitis) can be treated with oral antibiotics for 2-4 weeks, and then decide whether to continue antibiotic treatment based on its efficacy feedback. Recommended use α- Receptor blockers can improve urinary symptoms and pain, as well as plant preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, and M-receptor blockers can be chosen to improve urinary symptoms and pain.
Type IIIB (non inflammatory chronic prostatitis), not recommended for antibiotic treatment, can be used α- Treatment with drugs such as receptor blockers, plant-based preparations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, and M-receptor blockers.
In addition, the total cost of treating prostatitis needs to be determined based on the specific treatment course and medication used for different types of prostatitis.
Prostate massage is only suitable for chronic prostatitis
Appropriate prostate massage can promote the emptying of the prostate duct, improve local blood circulation, and promote the absorption and resolution of inflammation. Prostate massage can be used as an adjuvant therapy, and combined with other treatments can effectively shorten the course of the disease. However, prostate massage is only suitable for chronic prostatitis and not for acute prostatitis.
