What symptoms indicate that you have contracted stage three syphilis? The Three Symptoms of Phase III Syphilis in the Body
The symptoms of the first stage of syphilis are relatively mild, making it easy to confuse with other diseases. However, the third stage of syphilis does not have this problem because the symptoms of the third stage of syphilis have significant characteristics. As long as we remember this, we can know whether we have the third stage of syphilis through the symptoms. The following are the three main symptoms of stage three syphilis.
1. Nodular Syphilid
It often occurs within 3-4 years after infection, and injuries often occur on the head, shoulders, back, and extended sides of the limbs. The size of a permeable nodule with a diameter of approximately 0.3-1.0cm is copper red, with a smooth surface or thin scales, and a hard mass. The patient has no conscious symptoms, and the evolution of the nodule may have two outcomes. One is that the nodule is flat and absorbed, leaving small atrophic spots and long-term dark brown pigmentation. Another result is central necrosis, the formation of small abscesses, and the formation of ulcers after ulcers, forming nodular ulcerative syphilis rash, leaving shallow scars after healing. There is pigmentation around the scar, atrophy is smooth and thin, and there is new damage at the edge. This is the characteristic of this disease. Old and new rashes appear one after another, and new rashes can last for several years.
2. Gumma
It is very common in the third stage of syphilis, accounting for approximately 61% of the third stage of syphilis. In order to penetrate deep into the skin and harden. At the beginning, like the size of a pea, it gradually increases, such as the size of broad beans and plums or even larger. It is very hard and can move. The quantity is uncertain. At first, the color was normal skin color. As the nodules increase, the color gradually changes to light red, dark red, or even purple red. Nodules are prone to necrosis and can gradually soften, break, and discharge gelatinous secretions. They can form special circular, elliptical, or horseshoe shaped ulcers with clear boundaries and neatly raised edges, such as embankments. There is a brownish red or dark red infiltration around them, which feels very hard. One end heals, while the other end still spreads like a snake.
3. Syphilitic cardiovascular disease
It is a cardiovascular disease caused by the involvement of the cardiovascular system in the late stage (third stage) after the invasion of Treponema pallidum into the human body, including syphilitic arteritis, syphilitic aortic valve insufficiency, syphilitic aortic aneurysm, coronary artery stenosis, and myocardial colloid swelling.
Phase III syphilis can cause serious damage to the body's skin, manifested as a syphilitic rash, which has obvious characteristics and is easy to recognize. Gum swelling is also common in third stage syphilis, with over half of third stage syphilis patients experiencing this disease. If cardiovascular disease occurs simultaneously, the problem is severe, indicating that syphilis has invaded the cardiovascular system.
