What should children's sex education pay attention to? How to observe children's sexual orientation
More and more people are hearing that there are many homosexuals in prisons, ocean going ships, and the military. Nowadays, in universities and high school campuses, homosexuality is not a new thing, and there are more and more homosexuals. This has caused anxiety among parents and teenagers. Parents are too late to prevent their children's early love. What's even more worrying now is that children must never become homosexual. On the one hand, teenagers want to know more about homosexuality, but on the other hand, they are sometimes worried about being homosexual due to their inability to grasp their sexual impulses (having same-sex partners in their dreams) or explain their sexual behavior (even being touched by same-sex partners).
In fact, most of the concerns of parents and teenagers are due to a lack of knowledge about homosexuality. Education based on knowledge level is the simplest. Now we have clarified several concepts that are most relevant to the topic of homosexuality:
How to observe children's sexual orientation
Firstly, sexual orientation
Sexual orientation refers to the emotional, romantic, and sexual attraction that persists for one or two genders. It can be seen that this definition does not mention sexual behavior. Therefore, sexual orientation and behavior are completely different concepts
What people usually refer to as homosexuality refers to people who have a same-sex orientation. Generally speaking, what kind of sexual orientation leads to what kind of sexual behavior. Individuals who are attracted to the opposite sex have a certain desire to engage in sexual activity with the opposite sex; Individuals who are attracted to the same sex will inevitably desire to engage in sexual activity with the same sex. However, the inverse proposition of this proposition does not hold. That is to say, having sex with an individual of the opposite sex does not necessarily mean that their sexual direction is the opposite sex. Having sex with an individual of the same sex does not necessarily mean that their sexual direction is the same sex.
Secondly, sexual orientation cannot be changed
Sexual orientation is determined at birth and is not influenced by the environment. Sexual orientation is not a choice, nor is it within one's control. The consensus in the scientific community on sexual orientation points out that sexual orientation is continuous and cannot be changed. However, for humans, sexual behavior is highly controllable. Therefore, a person can engage in sexual behavior that does not align with their sexual orientation. That is to say, people in the opposite direction may be involved in same-sex behavior, while people in the same direction may be involved in opposite sex behavior. Therefore, distinguishing between sexual orientation and behavior is crucial. For example, a person with a same-sex orientation may choose to have sexual relations or even marry the opposite sex, which only indicates that their sexual partner is the "opposite sex" and does not mean that their sexual orientation has "become" opposite sex. Some people believe in so-called pseudo homosexuality or encounter sexual homosexuality. For example, they believe that some people in the military or temples are homosexual, but after leaving, they no longer do so, which can prove that sexual orientation can be changed. This is also a typical example of confusing sexual orientation with sexual behavior. Many of them are only in a specific environment and lack opportunities to interact with the opposite sex, so they intervene in sexual behavior between same-sex individuals. They have never belonged to the same gender orientation.
