What should be paid attention to in male semen examination? Four preparations must be made for semen examination
Some men check their sperm regularly to prevent some diseases they don't know, but some men wonder what they should pay attention to in the examination. Is it just a doctor
Some men check their sperm regularly to prevent some diseases they don't know, but some men are wondering what they should pay attention to during the examination. Is it just what the doctor said in general can help you reduce the occurrence of wrong things during the sperm examination? Let the next editor understand with you.
Once the male is sexually mature, the testicles continuously produce sperm. The testis can produce 70 million to 100 million sperm per day. The genesis and maturation of sperm is a very complex process. Any disease or other factors that interfere with male reproductive function can cause male infertility.
Regular inspection is a basic work
The semen examination of male infertility patients is the most basic method to check the male reproductive function. Semen examination is easy to operate and accurate in laboratory data, which has high clinical reference value. It is also the first routine examination for male infertility. The semen sampling procedure in semen examination is very important, and must be strictly followed according to the regulations, so that the test results will be accurate and effective. However, patients are often affected by many factors when performing semen examination. If the semen collection method is improper, it will not only affect the accuracy of the examination, but also cause a large deviation. Therefore, men who have semen examination should pay attention to the following points.
Pay attention to several points during inspection
1. Abstinence for 3 to 7 days
The so-called abstinence is that, in addition to prohibiting sexual intercourse and masturbation between husband and wife, we should also avoid the occurrence of dreams. This is to ensure that the amount of semen is sufficient during the examination and can objectively reflect the quality of semen. In addition, the length of abstinence time is also particular. If the time is too short, the sperm volume and sperm density are not enough; If the time is too long, the sperm activity will decrease and the accuracy of the examination will be affected.
2. Pay attention to diet and physical health
Semen examination should also avoid periods of poor health, such as cold, fever or heavy drinking. Because there may be oligospermia or dead sperm at this time, which will also affect the accuracy of the examination. More attention should be paid to some dietary problems. According to the scientists from Harvard University School of Public Health, 189 healthy men aged 19 to 25 were investigated. Their dietary habits (including the frequency of eating dairy products, fruit and meat) were known through the questionnaire, and then the sperm quality (including sperm shape and swimming speed) of the respondents was investigated. The study found that the sperm quality of men who consumed more than three portions of whole milk products a day was 25% lower than that of other men. Researchers will take their research to the annual meeting of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine in San Diego this week.
Afish, who initiated the study, explained that the natural estrogen contained in milk may affect the reproductive ability of men. But Alan Parsey, an expert at the University of Sheffield in the UK, said that men need not give up dairy products because of this research. Although the fertility of these men may decline, they will not lead to infertility.
3. To masturbate and take sperm
When sampling sperm, it is better to take samples at the outpatient site. In general, the semen examination room or the outpatient bathroom use the masturbation method to sample, and then send it for examination immediately after sampling, which can prevent the semen from leaving the body for too long or being contaminated halfway. When sampling, collect all semen, especially the first part of semen when ejaculating. The semen should be put into the clean container provided by the hospital, and the condom should not be used (the condom contains more lubricant or spermicide, which will affect the vitality of sperm). If it is winter when sampling, the container should be put into the arms for insulation and inspection. The appropriate temperature for maintaining semen samples is between 20 ℃ and 35 ℃.
4. Send the sperm to the laboratory in time
Some patients need to take samples at home due to psychological factors. In this case, the patient should submit the sample for examination within the time specified by the doctor, and should not leave it for too long. If you put it aside for too long, you will not be able to accurately detect your problem during the test, which will make you busy in vain, so you must pay attention to the survival time of sperm.
