What is the standard for judging whether semen is normal? What are the symptoms of abnormal semen
Normal semen is a prerequisite for pregnancy. It is composed of semen and sperm. Sperm and egg can form normal embryos. What kind of semen is normal? What diseases often occur in common abnormalities? What about abnormal semen?
How to correctly judge whether your semen is normal?
Semen volume: the normal volume should be more than or equal to 1.5ml (ml). It is too much when it is more than 7ml, which is common in patients with seminal vesiculitis. At this time, not only the sperm density is low, but also it is easy to flow out of the female vagina. The total number of sperm drops, the total number is less than 2ml, the amount of semen is small, and less than 1ml, which is easy to be sterile. On the contrary, if the sperm volume is less than 1.5ml, it is not conducive to the sperm penetrating the vagina and meeting the egg.
Color: The normal color is gray white or slightly yellow. If the semen appears milky white or yellow-green, it indicates that there is inflammation in the male reproductive tract or accessory gonads. Red blood cells can be seen in pink, red or under the microscope. They are bloody semen. They are common in patients with paragonads and post-urethritis, and occasionally in patients with tuberculosis or tumor. If there is yellowing, and it is yellowing for a short time, it may be due to the long interval between ejaculation and long abstinence time. This situation will recover automatically. Don't worry too much.
Liquefaction time: after normal semen is ejaculated, it will become gelatinous under the action of seminal vesicle coagulase, and then become liquid under the action of prostate liquefaction enzyme after 15-30 minutes, which is called semen liquefaction. If semen does not liquefy 60 minutes after ejaculation, it is abnormal liquefaction.
Viscosity: touch the liquefied semen with a glass rod and gently lift it to form semen silk. Small droplets dispersed in normal semen and with abnormal viscosity form a linear shape with a length of ≥ 2cm.
Sperm count: generally expressed by the number of sperm per milliliter of semen. Normal semen standard count ≥ 20 × 10? 6/ml。 Below this value, there are too few sperm. Due to various reasons such as sperm dysfunction, the chances of sperm entering the uterine cavity and fallopian tube are reduced, and the fertility is decreased or infertility. Sperm count exceeds 250 × 10? 6/ml sperm is too much and the activity is affected.
Sperm morphology: sperm with normal morphology ≥ 50%, otherwise it is sterile.
Activity: ≥ 50% of the athletes with straight forward sperm.
Survival rate: usually refers to the examination within 1 hour after ejaculation, and the survival sperm is ≥ 50%. The common reasons for the decline of sperm motility and survival rate are paragonadal inflammation, varicocele, ciliary retention syndrome caused by chronic respiratory infection, antisperm antibody in semen and improper storage of samples.
