What is the normal range of pelvic fluid accumulation? Does pelvic fluid accumulation affect menstruation
Pelvic fluid accumulation is a common gynecological disease, which can be caused by various reasons. After abnormal situations occur, we must pay attention to them and conduct timely and reasonable examinations.
Type of pelvic fluid accumulation
1. Physiological pelvic fluid accumulation
Because the pelvic cavity is the lowest part of the body in the abdominal cavity, when there is exudate or leakage, it will be drained to the pelvic cavity, resulting in pelvic fluid accumulation. Some normal women will have a small amount of blood accumulated in the pelvic cavity during menstruation or ovulation, forming pelvic effusion. Such pelvic effusion is sometimes a good thing. It proves that women's fallopian tubes are unblocked, and there is leakage from the fallopian tubes. If the umbrella end is unblocked, a small amount of exudate will reach the pelvic cavity, thus forming pelvic effusion. If the fallopian tubes are not unobstructed, it can cause fluid accumulation in the fallopian tubes. This type of pelvic fluid usually has less fluid and is gradually absorbed, so there is no need to be afraid. Generally, no treatment is required.
2. Pathological pelvic effusion
Clinically, many female pelvic effusion is caused by inflammation. There is inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity, which can gradually grow if not treated. If it is too large, the medication cannot be easily eliminated and requires surgical treatment. Pathological pelvic fluid accumulation in gynecology is often caused by pelvic inflammatory adnexitis or endometriosis. The causes of pelvic inflammatory adnexitis are often related to patients' poor hygiene habits, such as having sexual intercourse within one month after menstruation and postpartum, and taking a pelvic bath within one month after gynecological surgery. Iatrogenic infections caused by artificial abortion and lax disinfection during production can also cause pelvic fluid accumulation. If there is a chronic infectious disease, inflammation in the gynecological system such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes may lead to pelvic fluid accumulation, tuberculosis and tumors, as well as ectopic pregnancy rupture, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer.
Normal pelvic fluid accumulation
The normal value of pelvic fluid accumulation is less than 10MM, according to experts. Pelvic fluid accumulation can be divided into physiological and pathological types. Physiological pelvic fluid accumulation is less than 10mm. In women, during the first few days of their menstrual and physiological periods, some menstrual blood flows back into the pelvic cavity along the fallopian tubes. Ultrasound may see a small amount of fluid accumulation. After ovulation in women, follicular fluid may also flow into the pelvis, usually in small amounts, and a few people can see it under ultrasound. These two situations generally do not affect the body, disappear on their own, and do not require treatment.
