What is the examination for male impotence? The Methods of Treating Impotence with Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine
In a society where the pace of life is accelerating, male friends are busy with work, which can lead to the occurrence of diseases. Erectile dysfunction is a common type, and it is the trigger for marital breakdown. Treatment for erectile dysfunction should not be indiscriminate, and what tests should be done for male erectile dysfunction. For this issue, let's have a specific understanding.
What tests should be done for male impotence?
1、 Physical examination. Conduct a comprehensive systematic examination of each patient, with a focus on the development of the reproductive system, secondary sexual characteristics, and cardiovascular and neurological examinations. Abnormal development of the reproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics usually indicates endocrine erectile dysfunction caused by primary or secondary gonadal dysfunction and pituitary lesions. Unclear dorsalis pedis artery or disappearance of bulbocavernosus muscle reflex, and delayed perineal sensation indicate the possibility of vascular or neurological erectile dysfunction.
2、 Laboratory testing. Routine blood and urine tests, liver and kidney functions, as screening tests, focus on blood sugar and urine sugar values: diabetes often causes vascular and nerve damage, and about 1/2 of diabetes patients have erectile dysfunction complications.
3、 Special inspection. Special examinations include nighttime penile erection and hardness test (NPT), endocrine function test, and cavernous injection of vasoactive drugs guided erection test.
The methods for treating impotence with traditional Chinese and Western medicine are as follows:
Western medicine treatment for impotence:
1. Endocrine therapy:
The application of sex hormones or gonadotropins in the treatment of impotence can be replaced by testosterone for those with primary testicular dysfunction. The half-life of testosterone propionate in the plasma is 5-7 hours, so frequent medication is required, which is quite troublesome. If you plan to use erectile dysfunction drugs for the long term, you can choose long-term testosterone, such as testosterone jadate or testosterone cyclopentate.
2. Hormone therapy:
For erectile dysfunction patients with concomitant hypogonadism, it is reasonable to start treating androgens. Long acting formulations of testosterone, cyclopentane propionate testosterone and heptate testosterone, are the cheapest androgen replacement therapies that can effectively restore normal serum testosterone levels. Both formulations were treated with deep intramuscular injection for impotence, and blood testosterone levels exceeded physiological levels within 72 hours, followed by a stable decrease within 2-3 weeks. Cyclopentane propionate testosterone and heptane propionate testosterone are usually injected every 2-4 weeks at doses of 200-400 milligrams. Testosterone propionate has a short half-life and needs to be injected every other day.
