Nipple cracking is a disease of female breasts that also occurs in our daily lives. We must clarify its manifestations and pay full attention to it once it occurs.
What is a nipple crack
1. Nipple cracking is a superficial ulcer disease of the breast, usually manifested as nipple redness, cracking, bleeding, and pus discharge, bringing varying degrees of pain. Nipple cracking can be divided into lactation nipple cracking and non lactation nipple cracking according to the time of occurrence. Among them, lactation is the most important factor in the occurrence of nipple cracking.
2. Breastfeeding nipple cracks mainly occur during the first week of lactation, and new mothers generally have more nipple cracks than mothers who give birth. However, due to the mother's incorrect feeding posture, prolonged breastfeeding, and the inability of the soft nipple skin to withstand the baby's attraction, the nipple skin was damaged and cracked. In addition, excessive milk secretion, prolonged dampness of the nipples, biting of the nipples by infants, and sinking of the mother's nipples can also lead to dry and cracked nipples.
3. Mothers with mild nipple cracks experience symptoms such as cracks on the surface of their nipples and local bleeding. If left untreated, they may repeatedly develop small ulcers, causing severe pain during breastfeeding. Mothers with severe nipple cracks may experience symptoms of nipple bleeding, pus discharge, and scabbing. When the baby sucks, the nipple will feel sharp pain. If the crack persists for a long time, the nipple will become inflamed.
4. Non lactation nipple cracks refer to breast cracks that exclude breastfeeding factors, mainly due to dry breast skin, nipple inflammation, and nipple attraction during sexual activity. In addition, nipple cracking during non lactation may also be a symptom of lotus seed milk. Lotus seed milk refers to breast ulceration caused by fly maggot bites in women, with cracked nipples and black things inside the nipples, resembling lotus seed, mainly occurring in Africa and with a relatively low probability of occurrence. The probability of non lactation occurring is very low, and women can do well in breast health care in their daily lives.
Symptoms of dry nipple cracking
1. After the nipple is dry and cracked, when the baby inhales, the nipple becomes sharp, painful, bleeding, oozing, and scabbing. Check the nipple, and the small cracks and ulcers on its surface are dry cracks in the nipple.
2. It can be in one or more places, with varying depths. The opening of the nipple can be circular or vertical. There is often tenderness in the area of dry cracks, where pale yellow serous and bloody fluid seeps out, and erosion is often found in the grooves around the nipples.
