Genital warts are a well-known infectious disease that both men and women are at risk of getting sick, especially for female patients. It is a disease that needs attention and timely treatment. Let's understand together.
Types of genital warts
1. Cauliflower type genital warts: The lesion is significantly prominent, with a wide or fine base, surface burrs or coral protrusions, and surface tissue becomes swollen and white after applying 3% acetic acid. Against a white background, scattered velvet like blood vessels can be seen.
2. Finger shaped condyloma acuminatum, also known as rod-shaped, is an early manifestation of the lesion. After applying 3% acetic acid to the lesion site, many finger like protrusions were observed under colposcopy, and the matrix of the protrusions was transparent yellow. Within each finger like protrusion, a very clear vascular circuit could be seen.
3. Carpet type genital warts: Vaginal genital warts appear as white patches, slightly higher than normal skin and mucous membranes. After applying 3% acetic acid, they become locally white, and the surface is scattered in flower bed shaped arranged dotted and spiral blood vessels, making them a typical inverted colposcopy image.
Symptoms of genital warts
1. At the initial stage of the onset of genital warts, they are pale red or stained red, millet sized vegetation in the form of papules, nipples, cauliflower, or chicken crowns. They are delicate in nature, slightly pointed at the top, painless and itchy, gradually growing or increasing.
2. The base of vegetative organisms is slightly wide or banded, with particles on the surface, moist or bleeding on the surface, and often concentrated pus between particles, emitting a foul odor. After scraping, it can lead to secondary suppuration. Genital warts in dry areas with low humidity have minimal damage and appear as flat warts. Warts in damp and hot areas usually appear as filamentous or papillomatous, which can easily fuse into large pieces.
3. Genital warts also have symptoms such as itching, bleeding after trauma and friction, pain, and vaginal discharge. People with prolonged exposure may have erosive exudates on their surface, sometimes itching, which can lead to secondary bacterial infections, with purulent secretions on the surface, a foul odor, and pain. Urethral warts can cause hematuria, urinary tract obstruction, etc. Some patients do not have typical warts, manifested as subclinical and latent infections.
