Prostate cancer is an epithelial malignant tumor of the prostate. In 2004, WHO Pathology and Genetics of Urinary System and Male Genital Organ Tumors, the pathological types of prostate cancer include adenocarcinoma (acinar adenocarcinoma), ductal adenocarcinoma, urothelial carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and adenosquamous cell carcinoma. Among them, prostate cancer accounts for more than 95%. Generally, prostate cancer refers to prostate cancer. In 2012, the incidence rate of prostate cancer in tumor registration areas in China was 9.92/100000, and the incidence rate of male malignant tumors ranked sixth. The onset age was at a low level before 55 years old, and gradually increased after 55 years old. The incidence rate increased with age, and the peak age was 70-80 years old. Patients with familial hereditary prostate cancer have earlier onset age, and 43% of patients with age ≤ 55 years old.
Relationship between prostate cancer and diet
Red meat such as pig, beef and mutton is more dangerous, while white meat such as chicken, fish and cattle is less dangerous. In recent years, due to the improvement of the living standard of our people, the diet also favors meat, and seafood and dairy products account for a small proportion in the national diet structure. High fat diet is not only the reason for atherosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension, but also the reason for the increasing incidence of prostate cancer year by year.
The relationship between diet and prostate cancer is also achieved by controlling the level of androgen in the human body. Excess fat and animal protein intake objectively provide sufficient material basis for the production of androgen. Now the additives in animal feed contain hormone components, which are also one of the important reasons for the improvement of androgen level and the incidence of prostate cancer in China in recent years.
On the contrary, the diet that can reduce the level of androgen in the body is conducive to reducing the incidence of prostate cancer, such as soybean products and tomatoes rich in phytoestrogens.
Four types of prostate cancer
1. Latent prostate cancer: refers to the primary prostate adenocarcinoma without the symptoms and signs of prostate disease before death and found by pathological examination in postmortem autopsy. Latent cancer can occur in any part of the prostate, but it is common in the central and peripheral areas, and often differentiated adenocarcinoma. Its incidence rate is reported to be 5% - 50% overseas. The Research Report of the Urinary Research Institute of Beijing Medical University reported that the incidence rate of latent prostate cancer was 34%.
2. Incidental prostate cancer: benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the main clinical symptom. In the resected prostatic tissue, prostate cancer was found by histological examination. Histologically, it is well differentiated adenocarcinoma, mainly tubular adenocarcinoma and cribriform adenocarcinoma, and a few poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. The incidence rate of incidental prostate cancer abroad is 10% - 30%. The domestic incidence rate is reported to be about 5%.
