AIDS, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in humans leads to immune deficiency, accompanied by a series of opportunistic infections and tumors, and in severe cases, can lead to death syndrome. Here are the symptoms of AIDS.
Our country divides HIV infection into acute stage, asymptomatic stage and AIDS stage.
The first infection usually occurs approximately 2-4 weeks after the acute phase of HIV. The main clinical manifestations include fever, sore throat, night sweats, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, joint pain, lymph node enlargement, and neurological symptoms. Most patients have mild clinical symptoms that persist for 1-3 weeks.
HIV-RNA and p24 antigen can be detected in the blood during this period, while antibodies only appear a few weeks after HIV infection. The CD4+T lymphocyte count transiently decreases, and the CD4/CD8 ratio can be inverted.
2) Asymptomatic period
It can directly enter the acute phase or have no obvious symptoms of the acute phase.
This period usually lasts for 6-8 years. But there are also rapid progress and long-term lack of progress. The length of this period is related to factors such as the number, type, route of infection, and body immunity of the infected virus.
(3) AIDS
In the final stage of HIV infection, the CD4+T lymphocyte count significantly decreased, mostly<200/mm3, and the HIV plasma viral load significantly increased. The main clinical manifestations of this period are HIV related symptoms, various opportunistic infections, and tumors.
HIV related symptoms: mainly manifested as fever, night sweats, and diarrhea lasting for more than a month; Lose more than 10% of weight. Some patients exhibit neurological and psychiatric symptoms, such as memory loss, apathy, personality changes, headaches, epilepsy, and dementia. In addition, persistent systemic lymph node enlargement can also occur, characterized by ①. In addition to the groin, there are two or more enlarged lymph nodes; ②. Lymph node diameter ≥ 1cm, without tenderness or adhesion; ③ Lasting for more than 3 months.
HIV fever, night sweats, enlarged lymph nodes, coughing, expectoration, hemoptysis, dyspnea, headache, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, dysphagia, loss of appetite, oral leukoplakia and ulcers, various rashes, visual loss, blindness, dementia, epilepsy, limb paralysis, weight loss, anemia, urinary incontinence, urinary storage, intestinal obstruction, etc.
