What are the harmful manifestations of genital warts? Precautions for preventing genital warts
Condyloma acuminatum is a common sexually transmitted disease, and its incidence rate is on the rise, accounting for the second place in sexually transmitted diseases in China. This disease is caused by papillomavirus infection and can cause various forms of warts on the female labia, vaginal opening, urethral opening, vaginal wall, and other growth forms. At the same time, the virus can also infect the cervix, causing cervicitis. People have not paid enough attention to this, and many patients only focus on the treatment of obvious genital warts, ignoring the hidden danger of virus invasion of the cervix.
After cervical infection with genital warts virus, it is characterized by special cytological changes such as poor keratinization, increased concave cells, and atypical nuclei. Clinically, granulation can be seen growing outward, but most patients do not see a clear "wart" appearance. It is difficult to see these lesions with the naked eye. Only after applying 5% acetic acid externally, can the cervical epithelium become pale, white, or with red spots, exhibiting abnormal changes such as chimerism, which is known as subclinical cervical infection. In addition, cytological manifestations also have some obvious characteristics, such as double or multinucleated mast cell, darker coloring, clear and bright around the nucleus, double staining, poor keratinization, etc. At the same time, the subtypes of genital warts virus infected in the cervix are closely related to their carcinogenicity.
To prevent the occurrence of this disease, we must end all unclean sexual intercourse, do not share underwear, bath towels with others, and do not go to public bathrooms to take a shower. When the husband suffers from genital warts, he must be isolated and treated, and cannot live together before healing; Even if the rash is completely eliminated and does not recur, the husband should still wear a condom for six months. If I or her husband has other sexually transmitted diseases, I should also go to the hospital to check if I am infected with the genital wart virus. Women with genital warts or cervical infection with genital warts virus should undergo cervical cytological examination at least once a year and detect cervical cancer as soon as possible.
