What are the early symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia? What are the preventive measures for vulvar leukoplakia
Vulvar leukoplakia is a common gynecological disease mainly caused by local malnutrition, which seriously affects the quality of life and health of patients. After abnormalities occur, we must detect, check, and treat them early. What are the early symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia? Let's understand together.
Early symptoms of vulvar vitiligo
1. Vulvar itching, even severe itching, is usually a progressive sign of lichen sclerosis and can also cause pain, especially when cracks occur.
2. The external genitalia is discolored, and the skin color of the external genitalia is mostly purple red or light red, which can be grayish white or grayish blue, mixed with clearly defined white keratinized plaques. The clinical manifestations of external genitalia leukoplakia are different in shape and size, mixed type malnutrition, with mixed symptoms of atrophic and proliferative types. The symptoms are obvious atrophy of the vulva, thick foreskin of the penis, obvious keratinization, thick labial lines, reduced pigmentation, and localized thickening ulcers.
3. Skin lesions of the external genitalia, with rough, mossy like thickening of the affected skin, scratches, and sometimes cracking. Local pigmentation decreases, and the labia majora and labia minora generally turn white. The external genitalia may atrophy, and in severe cases, the penis, labia minora, and labia minora may atrophy or adhere. The labia minora may partially or completely disappear, and then contract in combination. The clinical manifestations of vulvar leukoplakia include narrowing of the vaginal opening, loss of elasticity, and even affecting urination and sexual activity.
Vulvar leukoplakia examination
1. Electronic colposcopy examination: This method of external vaginal leukoplakia examination uses an electronic colposcopy to expand the observation of cervical lesions, which is significantly easier than naked eye observation to detect cervical leukoplakia. Based on local diagnosis, iodine test for vulvar vitiligo, and colposcopy examination, it is generally not difficult to diagnose. But more importantly, further examination should be conducted after the discovery of vitiligo to avoid the omission of early cervical cancer coexisting with vitiligo.
2. Leucorrhea examination: The examination items include 6 items, including pH value, cleanliness, and amine test. What is the examination for vulvar leukoplakia? It should be noted that the patient's different physical conditions can affect the accuracy of the examination, and it is important to avoid conducting a vulvar leukoplakia examination in these situations. Purulent infection of the external genitalia and examination during menstruation are prohibited.
3. Iodine solution test: The principle of this examination method for vulvar leukoplakia is that due to epithelial keratinization or incomplete keratinization lacking the ability to store glycogen, the iodine coated area is not stained, which can detect the extent of the lesion. But the iodine test is non-specific, such as cervical erosion, ectropion, and precancerous lesions, which also show positive results.
