The symptoms of renal failure are diverse and complex. Generally, the condition of renal failure can be divided into several stages, and the symptoms displayed at each stage vary. Therefore, in different stages of renal failure, corresponding treatment measures can be taken, symptomatic treatment; This can greatly promote the treatment of renal failure. So, what are the clinical symptoms of renal failure?
Nephrologists generally classify renal failure into three stages based on its condition:
1. Starting period
Patients with renal failure at this stage exhibit mild symptoms and have not experienced significant renal parenchymal damage. Therefore, acute renal failure is preventable during this period. However, as the renal tubular epithelium undergoes significant damage, GFR suddenly decreases, and the clinical manifestations of acute renal failure syndrome become apparent, the maintenance period begins.
2. Maintenance period
This period is also known as oliguria, and its condition is mostly mild with a good prognosis. Typically 7-14 days, but it can be as short as a few days, up to 4-6 weeks. The glomerular rate remains low. Many patients may develop oliguria (<40Oml/d). However, some patients may not have oliguria, and their urine volume is above 400ml/d, which is referred to as non oliguria type acute renal failure. Most of them have a mild condition and a good prognosis. However, regardless of whether urine volume decreases or not, a series of clinical manifestations of uremia can occur with decreased renal function.
3. Recovery period
During this period, the symptoms of renal failure begin to gradually recover, and patients with oliguria begin to develop diuresis, which can manifest polyuria, usually lasting for 1-3 weeks, before returning to normal. Renal tubular cells regenerate and repair, and renal tubular integrity is restored. The glomerular filtration rate gradually returned to normal or approached the normal range. The daily urine volume can reach 3000-5000 ml, or more. It usually lasts for 1-3 weeks before returning to normal.
The symptoms displayed during the above three periods are also different. Patients should choose an appropriate period based on their own condition and go to a hospital for regular treatment. This allows for symptomatic treatment based on the extent of one's own renal failure condition, in order to achieve good therapeutic results.
