Indian researchers have recently discovered that fruits can treat infertility. Some fruits, such as watermelon, grape, tomato and lycopene found in some shellfish, can increase the sperm number of infertile men.
Researchers from the National Medical Association of India surveyed 30 men with infertility, and after the experiment began, six couples had successfully conceived. The researcher said: "We found that the number of spermatozoa and motility have significantly improved. Oral lycopene therapy does seem to have a better effect on infertility of unknown cause."
The researchers said: "In infertile men, the content of lycopene is low." The men surveyed were between 23 and 45 years old. During the experiment, they took two milligrams of lycopene orally twice a day for three consecutive months. The results showed that there was a direct relationship between lycopene index and infertility.
After taking lycopene orally for three months, doctors found that 67% of patients' sperm condition had significantly improved. Seventy three percent of patients had more active sperm activity, and 63 percent had improved sperm structure.
