Cervicitis is a gynecological disease that we should pay attention to, and it can also occur in daily life. The causes of cervicitis need to be clarified, and prevention should also be targeted in daily life.
Causes of cervicitis
1. Mechanical stimulation or injury: The cause of cervicitis is related to sexual activity. Natural or artificial abortion, diagnostic curettage, and childbirth can cause cervical injury and inflammation. Adult women should pay attention to contraception to avoid or reduce induced abortion surgery
2. Pathogen infection: It is a common cause of cervicitis, and the main pathogens are: 1) sexually transmitted disease pathogens: Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia mycoplasma. 2) Endogenous pathogens include Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, and anaerobic bacteria. 3) Other: There are trichomonas and amoebas in the protozoa. Special situations are caused by chemicals and radiation.
3. Chemical stimulation: Washing the vagina with potassium permanganate solution or placing suppositories in the vagina is a common cause of cervicitis.
4. Vaginal foreign body infection: When a vaginal foreign body infection causes cervicitis, attention must be paid to removing the foreign body.
Hazards of cervicitis
1. Abortion: Cervicitis alters tissue, reduces elasticity, and can also affect sexual activity if the labor process is not smooth or if the abortion is severe.
2. Complication: After suffering from cervical erosion, it is easy to cause inflammation in other organs. For example, the pathogen of cervicitis can rise and cause the spread of periuterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels in endometritis, causing inflammation of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, affecting the trigone of the bladder, causing diseases of the urinary system, and causing irritating symptoms such as painful urination, frequent urination, and difficulty urinating.
3. Easy to cause deeper lesions: Chronic inflammation with long-term stimulation can cause deeper lesions such as lacerations, polyps, ectropions, cysts, etc.
4. Increasing the probability of cancer transformation: In women with cervical inflammation, the incidence of cervical cancer after cervical erosion is nearly 10 times higher than in the general population. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia of the columnar epithelium in the cervical canal can occur. If not treated promptly and correctly, it will develop towards precancerous lesions of the cervix. Cervical erosion often coexists with HPV infection, which is one of the suspicious signals causing cervical cancer, and this development process usually takes 5-10 years.
Prevention and treatment of cervicitis
1. Do a good job in family planning, avoid unplanned pregnancies, avoid or avoid induced abortions, take contraceptive measures, and try to avoid mechanical damage to the cervix caused by multiple abortions. At the same time, gynecological surgery operations should be strictly sterile to prevent iatrogenic infections and injuries.
