Past classification of prostatitis: acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis; Nonbacterial prostatitis; Prostate pain.
In 1999, the new classification method of prostatitis was recommended. According to the condition of semen, prostate fluid or initial 10 ml urine after prostate massage, prostatitis was divided into:
(1) Acute bacterial prostatitis (type I): Acute bacterial infection occurs.
(2) Chronic recurrent bacterial infection occurs in chronic prostatitis (type II).
(3) Chronic pelvic pain syndrome (type III): including chronic non-bacterial prostatitis and prostate pain. (1) Inflammatory type (IIIA): There are white blood cells in the initial 10 ml urine after semen, prostate fluid or prostate massage. (2) Non-inflammatory type (IIIB): There are no white blood cells in the initial 10 ml urine after semen, prostate fluid or prostate massage.
(4) Asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis (type IV): asymptomatic, only when white blood cells were found in the prostatic fluid during prostate biopsy or other examinations were diagnosed incidentally.
The life precautions of patients with prostatitis mainly include the following seven points:
(1) Rest in bed, keep defecation smooth, fast spicy and stimulating food, drink more water, and promote urination.
(2) In case of acute inflammation, urethral instrument examination is prohibited to prevent the spread of infection.
(3) Avoid sex and sexual excitement.
(4) Eliminate inducing factors, prevent colds and perineal injuries, and avoid cycling.
(5) Hot compress or hot sitz bath on the lower abdomen and perineum.
(6) Avoid damp and cold stimulation of the perineum, and take analgesics if the pain is severe.
(7) Massage is contraindicated because the prostate tissue in the acute inflammatory period is obviously congested and edema. After massage, it will cause tissue damage, inflammation spread, and bacteria enter the blood, leading to septicemia, and also aggravate the symptoms.
