Causes of external genital itching
1. Fungal: itching of the external genitalia and vagina, flushing of the external genitalia, accompanied by bean residue like vaginal discharge, with a strange odor. Scratching can cause negative changes in the external genitalia.
2. Vaginal hair: the vulva and vagina are itchy, with foam like leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, which also changes the vulva dermatitis and eczema after scraping. Conducting a vaginal discharge coating test can distinguish it from the aforementioned diseases. Don't be blind to yourself.
3. Yin: The pubic lice often adhere to the surface of the skin or the root of the pubic hair, and the eggs of the pubic lice are gray white and needle sized. The bite of pubic lice and their venom and excreta can cause itching and eczema like changes in the skin.
4. Octopus infection: It mainly affects young girls and can also infect adult women. At night, when the anus is loose, octopuses swim from the rectum to the vulva to mate and lay eggs, stimulating the skin and mucosa of the vulva, causing local itching.
5. Scabies infection: When scabies occur, external skin damage is most severe, and local itching is also most pronounced.
6. Local skin uncleanness: Some women use toilet paper improperly, causing the skin of the external genitalia to be soaked in menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, urine, feces, and sweat, leading to chronic inflammation of the local skin and causing itching in the external genitalia.
7. Drug allergy: Fixed type drug rash caused by the use of sulfonamides or other drugs in women with allergic constitution, often occurring at the boundary of the skin and mucosa of the external genitalia. In addition to local itching, it can also be accompanied by erosion and exudation. Using medication for vaginal cleaning and vaginal insertion can lead to allergic reactions and contact dermatitis, as well as external genital itching.
8. Skin disease of the external genitalia: Skin damage caused by psoriasis spreads to the external genitalia, causing severe itching in the local area. The local itching caused by external genital eczema and neurodermatitis is more severe. The former is manifested as papules, blisters, and erosive exudates with unclear local skin boundaries, while the latter scrapes and thickens the skin with moss. In addition to local itching, leukoplakia in the external genitalia also causes malnutrition and skin atrophy in the external genitalia
9. Virus infection: Genital warts often occur in the vaginal wall, cervical opening, and external genitalia of women, with foul smelling vaginal discharge. Infectious soft warts that occur in the external genitalia are mostly manifested as circular papules with a central umbilical fossa like depression, which can also cause itching in the external genitalia. Genital herpes is often characterized by bright rice sized blisters appearing at the urethral opening and vaginal wall, accompanied by local itching.
