Dyospermia refers to multiple semen tests where all sperm are dead. Under normal circumstances, within 1 hour of semen being expelled from the body, over 70% of normal surviving sperm should be present. If the number of dead sperm exceeds 40%, it will affect conception. Sperm survival time should maintain a survival rate of over 20% within 6 hours. If there are no viable sperm within 6 hours, it can cause infertility. The activity of sperm is directly related to the fructose content in the seminal vesicles. If fructose is reduced and nutrition is lacking, the sperm mortality rate is higher. In addition, the lack of vitamins A and E also has a significant impact on sperm activity. It is inevitable to have a certain amount of abnormal sperm in the sperm. It is generally believed that within 10%, it can be considered normal, while exceeding 10% or even reaching 20% can affect fertility, as this situation is often accompanied by poor liquefaction, low vitality, and other semen quality issues.
Dead sperm or sperm malformation are not recorded in traditional Chinese medicine and belong to the categories of "childlessness" and "infertility". Dead sperm syndrome is often caused by insufficient kidney qi or excessive dampness heat phase fire; Sperm malformations are often caused by depletion of the Yin fluid or damage to the semen caused by excessive circulation. This section will be discussed together.
(1) The clinical manifestations of this disease are quite inconsistent, and some patients have no clinical symptoms; Some patients may have a history of chronic prostatitis, orchitis, seminal vesiculitis, etc; Some patients may have premature ejaculation or low libido due to ejaculation. The main basis for its diagnosis is also semen testing, generally speaking. If the number of inactive sperm in semen testing exceeds 40%, it is called oligozoospermia. Individuals with more than 20% abnormal sperm are referred to as abnormal sperm excess syndrome. Purulent cells often appear simultaneously in semen routine or prostatic fluid routine.
(2) Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease or excessive atrial labor, loss of kidney essence, yin deficiency and excessive fire, burns kidney essence; Or congenital deficiency, deficiency of the body after the disease, insufficient kidney qi, and loss of essence; Or vegetarian preference for thick taste, accumulation of dampness and heat, fumigation of the seminal palace, and kidney damage; Or mental depression, liver loss and laxity, wood stagnation transforming into fire, and kidney essence being affected can all cause sperm malformation or excessive dead sperm.
Due to the presence of new and old sperm produced at different stages in semen, it is allowed to contain a certain proportion of deformed or dead sperm, but the number should not be too high, as high levels can affect fertility. Male fertility is directly proportional to the number of sperm (fraction and total number) and sperm motility, and inversely proportional to abnormality. But those who ejaculate for a long time often have high density, more abnormal dead sperm, and poor mobility.
