Must Whitening of the Vagina Be a White Spot of the Vulva? These three signals are precursors
Vulvar leukoplakia is a common gynecological disease, and it is also one of the diseases that we need to be vigilant about. Especially when there are different phenomena in the body, we need to go to the hospital for reasonable examination and diagnosis in a timely manner.
Symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia
1. Squamous epithelial hyperplasia of the vulva: Pruritus of the vulva is the main symptom, but the cause is unknown. Although there is no direct cause for the occurrence of this disease, anatomical and physiological factors such as prolonged dampness of the local skin of the vulva and stimulation of vaginal discharge may be related to its onset. This disease is more common in women after amenorrhea and can also occur at reproductive age. Pruritus of the external genitalia is the main symptom of this disease, which patients cannot tolerate. Due to the stimulation of larger nerve fibers by scratching the local area, it can inhibit the itching nerve fiber reflex, temporarily relieving itching in patients. However, scratching can lead to further skin damage, triggering a new itching response and exacerbating itching, forming a vicious cycle.
2. Vulvar lichen sclerosus: It is a skin disease characterized by atrophy and thinning of the skin around the vulva and anus. Although the cause is unknown, there is a family genetic history. Some scholars have found that individuals with this disease often have autoimmune diseases such as alopecia areata, vitiligo, hyperthyroidism, or hypothyroidism, indicating that this disease is related to their own immunity.
3. Mixed type malnutrition: Generally refers to patients with hyperplastic and atrophic vaginal leukoplakia who develop into the middle to late stages of the disease, usually presenting with two mixed symptoms. The pathological manifestation is mixed type malnutrition.
Precursors of vulvar leukoplakia
1. Symptoms include dry skin, thickening and whitening, loss of elasticity, and even atrophy and ulceration, as well as pain and burning sensation. These are all symptoms that women may experience when suffering from vulvar leukoplakia.
2. Patients with vulvar leukoplakia may experience systemic symptoms such as panic, weakness, chest tightness, reduced diet, insomnia and dreaminess, low back pain, and apathy towards sexual demands during the illness. After the patient's condition becomes severe, the disease can further develop into vulvar cancer.
3. Patients with vitiligo of the vulva may experience symptoms of whitening or alternating with light red on the skin and mucosa of the vulva during the illness, mainly manifested as rough, cracked, ulcerated, erosive, or elastic loss of hardness on the surface of the vulva, and difficulty urinating.
Vulvar leukoplakia examination
1. Vulva examination: Vulva examination is a relatively simple and direct method in the diagnosis of vulvar leukoplakia. Generally, the appearance of the affected area is observed with the naked eye or touched by hand. The local mucosa of the patient's affected area becomes white, itchy, and the skin is rough, starting or peeling off
