Don't use advertising as a lifesaver for men with prostate disease. There are many and many advertisements on TV about male diseases, and many patients with prostate diseases often seek medical attention in a hurry. Seeing an advertisement can serve as a life-saving straw. In fact, countless false advertisements such as "experts, secret recipes, introduction of unique foreign special treatment equipment..." for the treatment of prostatitis are overwhelming.
Here, I would like to comment on the content of those ostentatious advertisements for prostatitis treatment, to remind patients, and not to be gullible.
1. Advertising content: Research shows that prostate problems are mostly chronic diseases, which are treated blindly. If the best treatment opportunity is missed, the most frightening thing is that it harms the digestive system such as the gastrointestinal tract.
Comments: The prostate is a male accessory gonad, belonging to the sexual organ system, and has neither internal connection nor adjacent to digestive organs such as the gastrointestinal tract. How can prostatitis damage digestive organs such as the gastrointestinal tract? Advertisers don't even have the basic knowledge.
2. Advertising content: essence is extracted from more than ten Chinese medicines, and is administered through the anus. The absorption speed is fast, the blood concentration is high, and the suppository body dissolves rapidly after entering the human body. The user immediately feels that the vascular smooth muscle is relaxed, the prostate symptoms in the body are gradually dissolving and disappearing, and the bacteria, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and microorganisms are eliminated and eliminated, and excreted out of the body with the stool. All kinds of symptoms disappear.
Comment: The content of this advertisement is even more absurd. (1) The term "extracted essence" in scientific research terms refers to a high-purity effective substance extracted from natural raw materials by a special method. How can the suppository of Chinese herbal medicine inserted in the anus be said to be "extracted essence"? (2) The anus is a defecation outlet, and its ability to absorb substances is minimal. How can anal tamponade be said to absorb quickly? (3) The user immediately feels the relaxation of the vascular smooth muscle innervated by the unconscious nerve, which is too mysterious! (4) Prostate gland is a substantial tissue, which can be dissolved by inserting a Chinese herbal suppository into the anus, which can be considered a fantasy! (5) Currently, there is no drug that can kill bacteria, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and other microorganisms at the same time: and it can not only "eliminate" pathogens in the prostate, but also discharge them with the stool? (6) Bacteria, chlamydia, and mycoplasma all belong to the category of microorganisms, and their advertisements actually write "Bacteria, chlamydia, mycoplasma, and microorganisms... without even this knowledge, can they treat diseases?"?
The prostate gland has three main functions: ① forming the prostate gland of the urethra to control urination; ② Input the contents of the seminal vesicle and vas deferens and the secretions of the acinar ducts into the proximal urethra; ③ Secrets prostate fluid.
The clinical manifestations of prostatitis are diverse, and the symptoms are not proportional to the severity of inflammation. Some patients have asymptomatic prostate fluid that contains a large number of pus cells, while some patients have normal or nearly normal prostate fluid tests, but the clinical symptoms are very severe.
Common symptoms can be summarized as follows:
1. Discomfort in urination
Bladder irritation can occur, such as frequent urination, burning urethra during urination, pain, and radiation to the head of the penis. In the early morning, there may be secretions such as mucus at the urethral orifice, and there may also be a feeling of difficulty urinating.
2. Local symptoms
Prostatitis can also bring some local symptoms, such as a feeling of heavy pressure in the perineum or suprapubic region, prolonged sitting, increased defecation, and radiation to the waist, lower abdomen, back, and thigh roots.
3. Radiation pain
The prostate or seminal vesicle is rich in sympathetic innervation. When inflammation occurs, the internal tension of the gland increases, which can stimulate sympathetic nerves and cause metastatic low back pain. In addition, the penis, spermatic cord, testicular scrotum, lower abdomen, inguinal region (thigh root), thigh, rectum, and other places can be affected. It should be pointed out that low back pain caused by chronic prostatitis is easily confused with orthopedic low back pain such as myofascitis and lumbar muscle strain, but the latter is mostly located near the belting area, which is higher than the low back pain caused by prostatitis and can be distinguished.
4. Sexual dysfunction
Due to the long duration of the disease and high mental pressure on patients, some patients may experience decreased or disappeared libido, ejaculatory pain, blood semen, ejaculation, and infertility.
Prostatitis is a complex pathological change involving inflammation, immunity, and neuroendocrine in the prostate caused by a variety of complex causes and triggers, resulting in symptoms of urethral irritation and chronic pelvic pain as the main clinical manifestations of the disease. Prostatitis is one of the common diseases among adult males, accounting for 8% to 25% of outpatients in urological surgery. About 50% of males will be affected by the hazards of prostatitis at some point in their lives.
Prostatitis examination:
1. Prostate Tumor Antigen (PSA): PSA is a "prostate specific antigen" that is a tumor marker that can be used to screen for prostate cancer.
2. Semen volume: The amount of semen discharged at a time in a normal person can vary depending on the duration of abstinence, generally ranging from 2 to 5 ml, with less than 1.5 ml or more than 8 ml considered abnormal.
3. Semen examination: The general character examination of semen is to observe the color, transparency, viscosity, and liquefaction time of semen with the naked eye.
4. Semen viscosity: Semen viscosity refers to the viscosity of liquefied semen, which can be observed using the glass rod pulling method and semen viscometer method.
Common diagnostic methods:
1. Prostate fluid examination: The white blood cells in prostate fluid are more than 10 in the high magnification field of the microscope, and the lecithin bodies are reduced. This can be diagnosed as prostatitis. If bacterial culture is conducted simultaneously, a clear diagnosis and classification of chronic prostatitis can be made. If the bacterial culture result of prostatitis fluid is positive, chronic bacterial prostatitis is diagnosed; On the contrary, it is chronic non bacterial prostatitis.
2. On digital rectal examination, the prostate is plump, enlarged, soft, and slightly tender. "If the disease lasts a long time, the prostate gland will become smaller, harder, uneven in texture, and have small nodules.". At the same time, the method of prostate massage is used to obtain prostate fluid for a routine examination.
In addition to clinical manifestations, digital rectal examination can touch the swollen and plump prostate, with significant tenderness. When there is abscess formation, both glandular lobes are asymmetric and may have localized fluctuations. During the acute phase, prostate massage should be avoided to prevent infection from spreading to the epididymis and testis, or bacteria entering the blood causing bacteremia.
3. The main manifestations of urodynamic examination include a decrease in urinary flow rate, incomplete relaxation of the bladder neck-urethral sphincter muscle, and an abnormal increase in the maximum urethral closure pressure.
4. B-ultrasound examination shows that the boundary of prostate tissue structure is unclear and disordered, which can indicate prostatitis.
Can prostatitis be cured? If a patient with prostatitis is diagnosed through the above examination, it is necessary to face up to the disease itself and actively receive treatment.
