Sexual Health
Is precocious puberty also classified as true or false? Preventive precocious puberty has achieved these two points
There are certain laws in human physiological development, as well as in the development of sexual organs and characteristics. Early maturity is called precocious puberty. Why does precocious puberty occur? Because human growth and development are directly controlled by the brain and hypothalamus, the endocrine system can also develop normally. Due to certain reasons affecting the control of the endocrine system, it can disrupt the regularity of sexual development, leading to premature or delayed puberty.
Premature puberty is closely related to these factors
1. There is a certain pathological change in the brain. Sequela such as tuberculous meningitis, adhesions in the hypothalamus at the base of the head, can lead to precocious puberty.
2. Brain injuries such as skull base fractures and severe birth injuries.
3. Having a family history.
4. Adrenal cortical hyperplasia, adrenal cortical tumors, gonadal functional tumors, and chorionic epithelial carcinoma can cause precocious puberty. The reason is that lesions and tumors themselves can secrete gonadotropins, promote glandular hormones, and promote organ development.
5. Exogenous precocious puberty occurs when children ingest their mother's contraceptive pills by mistake.
Is precocious puberty also classified as true or false?
True precocious puberty
Premature hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis function, with reproductive function. True precocious puberty includes constitutional precocious puberty, multiple bone fiber dysplasia, and adrenal gonadal syndrome.
1. Physical precocious puberty, which means that the process of sexual maturity is similar to the normal process of sexual development, but occurs early and progresses quickly. 80% of women and approximately 40% of men experience precocious puberty in this type. Such patients initially have a higher body weight than children of the same age, but their condyles close early and their bodies become very short in adulthood.
2. 40% of patients with multiple bone fibrodysplasia experience precocious puberty, which is almost exclusively female.
3. Adrenal gonadal syndrome is a common precocious puberty. The patient has a congenital defect in the adrenal gland, which leads to excessive secretion of androgens and premature puberty in females. It occurs when the male penis enlarges, pubic hair and axillary hair grow, but the undeveloped muscles of the testicles are developed, but the bones close early.
Pseudo precocious puberty
It is a second sign that occurs due to certain diseases causing the body to produce a large amount of sex hormones or receiving a large amount of exogenous sex hormones. Common causes include gonadal tumors, adrenal tumors, and the effects of oral contraceptives. Pseudo precocious puberty has no reproductive function.
