Is pain during sexual intercourse a normal phenomenon? Four stages of sexual intercourse pain should be noted
Sexual activity is an important component of life, and attention should also be paid to various aspects during sexual activity. A good sexual life is beneficial for both the body and marital relationship, but there are also women who experience pain during sexual intercourse.
What is sexual intercourse pain
1. Physiological sexual pain
During sexual impulses, the sexual organs become congested, causing a certain degree of pressure on the pelvic tissue. Contraction and spasms are physiological pain during sexual intercourse, and sudden events often occur. In addition, some women may be allergic to male semen, leading to systemic symptoms and accompanied by allergic abdominal pain. Prostaglandins in semen can cause uterine contractions and abnormalities in women. The female uterus tilts backwards, causing gravity compression on the uterus, appendages, and bladder due to sexual position, changes in organ position, and traction on surrounding tissues, which also cause sexual pain. Generally speaking, the above sexual pain symptoms often occur during the first sexual intercourse, and due to insufficient sexual experience, these discomfort symptoms gradually decrease with the enrichment of sexual experience.
2. The impact of diseases
In addition to physiological sexual pain, some diseases can also cause symptoms of sexual pain. Common inflammations include vulvitis and vaginitis, vestibular gland infections, endometritis, adnexitis, cystitis, and other inflammations. Uterine fibroids, pelvic tumors, and other diseases can cause pelvic congestion, which can also lead to pain during sexual intercourse and accompanied by symptoms such as menstrual disorders and abnormal vaginal discharge.
The causes of pain during sexual intercourse in women
Sexual pain is often caused by psychological factors. Many causes of sexual pain are inadequate preparation before sexual intercourse, and when the woman has not yet developed sexual excitement, there is not much vaginal exudate, which is dry and lacks lubrication, the man is eager for sexual intercourse and forcefully inserts the penis, causing pain. If this situation occurs repeatedly, the woman's terror condition will be reflected, and every sexual intercourse will be associated with the last pain, making her mental state more tense and the pain more intense.
Another part of sexual pain is caused by vulvitis or vaginitis, vaginal stenosis, cervicitis, endometriosis, salpingitis, pelvic adhesions, etc. This situation should be promptly examined and treated at the hospital, and the pain should disappear after treatment.
