Is frequent masturbation easy to cause premature ejaculation? Is there a causal relationship between masturbation and premature ejaculation
Free birds do not understand human prohibitions; When can humans let go of the historical tradition's ban on masturbation?
In Sex therapy, we sometimes encounter such situations: some men who ask for help because of sexual problems sigh after describing their sexual problems, and then blame themselves: "Alas, masturbation was too frequent when they were young, which was bad!"
Searching on Baidu with the keyword 'Is Frequent Masturbation Easily Causing Premature Ejaculation?', the page displayed over 100 million related links, indicating the degree of concern for this issue! In addition to the links on the homepage and first few pages of search results, which are mostly from male hospitals and mainly provide rough answers for advertising purposes, there are also some health websites and answers from kind-hearted people. Those answers can be summarized, and the general conclusion is that some people may ejaculate under rapid and strong stimulation due to fear of masturbation being found, which may lead to premature ejaculation, but frequent masturbation is more likely to lead to difficulty in ejaculation when having sex with a Sexual partner (that is, when using a method with less intense stimulation of masturbation at ordinary times).
On the CNKI academic journal website, the main findings were empirical conclusions drawn by some male urologists from some clinical cases, and there was no significant study on the causal relationship between "frequent masturbation" and "premature ejaculation" in a large sample. Even the most relevant research is the Research on the Causality of Masturbation and Premature Ejaculation (Tao Lin, Wong Choon Wah, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Vol. 10, No. 3, 2000) published in 2000 (note: not "frequent masturbation"). The summary of this paper is as follows:
Method: Select 100 premature ejaculation patients who voluntarily participate in the survey and fill out a self-designed standardized form.
Result: The average ejaculation latency was (1.2 ± 0.8) minutes, the average number of tics was (11.7 ± 11.2), and the average age at which masturbation began was (18.1 ± 3.5) years old. 51% of patients believe that premature ejaculation is related to mental stress, while 41% believe it is unrelated. 69% admit to masturbation, 6% deny masturbation, 25% rarely masturbate, and 58% do not believe there is mental tension during masturbation, only 54% are concerned about premature ejaculation during first sexual intercourse, and 29% believe that masturbation is harmless to the body.
Conclusion: The incidence of masturbation is not high among premature ejaculation patients. The age at which masturbation begins is also late, with at least 30% of premature ejaculation not caused by masturbation or anxiety. Further research should be conducted on the etiology of masturbation.
