How to Reasonably Diagnose Six Examination Methods for White or White Spot of the Vulva
Vulvar leukoplakia is a gynecological disease and a serious disease, especially when abnormalities occur in the external genitalia, immediate examination and diagnosis are necessary.
Types of white spots on the external genitalia
1. Proliferative vulvar leukoplakia: Generally occurs in women aged 30-60. The surface color is mostly dark red or pink, mixed with clearly defined white patches, generally without atrophy or adhesion. The main symptom is itching of the external genitalia, which exacerbates pain after injury. The affected skin is as thick as leather, with wrinkles and protrusions, and scales that change like eczema. The range of lesions is different, mainly affecting the Labia majora, the sulcus between the labia, the prepuce of the penis and the posterior joint, which are mostly symmetrical.
2. Cured lichen type vulvar leukoplakia: visible age, mostly seen in women around 40 years old. The main symptom is itching in the affected area, but it is generally milder than proliferative diseases and has difficulty reproducing in the late stage. The lesion involves the skin of the vulva, mucosa, and perianal skin. In addition to the skin and mucous membrane becoming white, thin, dry and easy to break, it loses elasticity, penis atrophy, adhesion with the foreskin, and the Labia minora flattens and disappears. In the late stage, the thin wrinkles of the skin contracted like cigarette paper, and the Vaginal orifice contracted and narrowed with only fingertips.
3. Mixed type vulvar leukoplakia: mainly manifested in areas near thin type vulvar leukoplakia, or localized skin thickening or protrusion within its range.
Symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia
1. Pruritus of the external genitalia: Pruritus of the external genitalia is a prominent manifestation in the early stage of the disease, manifested significantly at night. The degree of itching in patients is related to the time of disease occurrence, climate, dietary preferences, environmental changes, emotions, etc. Pruritus is usually intermittent, and patients cannot tolerate itching. Due to scratches, there may be multiple scratches and redness in the external vagina. Long term scratches can cause local dryness, ulceration, and secondary infections.
2. Whitening of skin tone: The initial symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia are manifested in changes in the skin color of the affected area. Initially, the skin color of the vulva turns purple red or light red, and the patient also turns gray white or gray blue, mixed with clearly defined white keratinized spots of different shapes and sizes. Among them, mixed malnutrition has mixed symptoms of atrophic and proliferative types, characterized by significant atrophy of the genitals and increasingly pale skin color.
3. Vulvar atrophy: The disease can not be treated effectively in time. In addition to itching and abnormal skin color, the patient's vulva is slightly atrophied. In severe cases, the penis, large and small lips are atrophied and adherent, and the Labia minora partially or completely disappears. After joint contraction, the Vaginal orifice becomes narrower and narrower, and the elasticity disappears. Therefore, the patient must pay attention to the treatment of the disease and not develop it.
