How to diagnose male prostatic hyperplasia? What are the key points of daily nursing for BPH
Prostatic hyperplasia, also known as prostatic hypertrophy, is a common chronic disease in elderly men and one of the common diseases in urology. The prostate begins to show two trends around the age of 45 in men: one tends to atrophy, the other tends to hyperplasia, and the gland volume gradually increases, forming prostatic hyperplasia.
How to diagnose male prostatic hyperplasia
1. It is mostly seen in elderly men over 50 years old. Early manifestations include frequent urination, increased nocturnal urination, dysuria, and weak urine flow. In the late stage, severe frequent urination, urgent urination, dysuria, even drip failure, fullness of the lower abdomen, and full bladder can be touched.
2. Rectal diagnosis: the prostate is enlarged, hard, smooth, and the central groove disappears.
3. B-mode ultrasound can show hyperplasia of prostate. Cystoscopy and excretory urography are helpful for the diagnosis of this disease.
4. This disease should be differentiated from gonorrhea, gangrene, urethral stricture, prostate cancer, prostate sarcoma, prostate calculus, and neurogenic bladder dysfunction.
Perioperative nursing of benign prostatic hyperplasia
1. Before operation, urinary retention, urinary tract infection or poor renal function may be caused by indwelling catheter or cystostomy. At this time, pay attention to observe the changes of urination morphology and whether there is abnormality.
2. Drinking alcohol and spicy food are prohibited before operation, and eating and drinking are prohibited under the guidance of doctors. Don't presume to eat.
3. Comfort encourages patients to face the disease bravely, trust doctors and relax. Provide a quiet and harmonious atmosphere to alleviate fear and worry.
4. Actively cooperate with doctors in preoperative preparation such as skin preparation, enema and injection of needles.
5. Observe carefully, body temperature, respiration and other changes after operation. Notify the medical staff immediately after finding any abnormality.
6. When helping the patient turn over and get up, do not fold, block or drop the catheter.
7. After the operation, eat more coarse fiber food to prevent constipation.
8. Encourage patients to exercise after surgery to restore their health.
