Abnormal erection of penis is common at the ages of 5~10 and 20~50. Generally, only the cavernous body of the penis is involved, and most cases occur when the penis is congested at night. If the abnormal erection of the penis with low blood flow lasts for several hours, it is difficult to erect the penis due to the pain caused by tissue ischemia. The penis with high blood flow rarely has pain, and the penis cannot reach the hardness of complete erection. There is usually a history of perineal or penile trauma. In most of these cases, complete erection can still be restored after arterial embolism or surgical ligation, but it usually takes several weeks to several months.
Seven causes of abnormal penis erection
1. Sickle cell anemia
Patients with sickle cell anemia often have abnormal penile erection. The obstruction of penis venous reflux is mainly caused by sickle red blood cells.
2. Intrabody injection sponge
Abnormal erection of penis is the most common cause. The main reason is that the smooth muscle of patients with excessive drugs or drug allergy cannot resume contraction, resulting in abnormal erections.
3. Neurogenic factors
Patients with spinal canal stenosis, spinal cord injury and intervertebral disc herniation are prone to abnormal penile erection. But these patients often have self-restriction and do not need medical treatment.
4. Malignant tumor
Although tumor cell infiltration will not lead to abnormal erection, venous reflux obstruction or cavernous sinus invasion will lead to congestion and thrombosis. Leukemia, prostate cancer, kidney cancer and melanoma have been reported to metastasize to the penis and cause abnormal erections.
