When many men, especially those who are using condoms for the first time, buy condoms in the supermarket, what size of condoms should they buy? Don't think that just buying the size is enough. It is important to purchase the appropriate size.
The Hazards of Improper Condom Size
Using a condom that is too tight can cause trauma to the penis tissue, impotence, and failure to lift. According to experts, if a narrow condom is frequently used, the penis will experience ischemia, tissue and nerves inside the penis will lack oxygen, and the part that creates the corpus cavernosum will become unstable. In severe cases, people will become impotent.
Excessive use of tight condoms can lead to a risk of sexual impotence, but using too wide condoms also carries potential risks.
Some people buy condoms that are too large and give up if they feel they are not suitable, or if the condom is not suitable and the penis comes into direct contact with the vagina, semen can easily flow out, reducing contraceptive efficacy, but increasing the possibility of infectious diseases (such as gonorrhea).
What are the sizes of condoms?
The length of a condom is relatively fixed. A regular condom has a length of about 19 centimeters, and there is a seminal vesicle at the top of the condom that is about 2 centimeters long. There is a slightly loose rubber ring at the proximal opening (mouth), mainly used for fixing the genitalia.
There are 4 types of condom sizes, and different brands have unified size classification. Generally speaking, condoms can be classified into four types based on their opening diameter: large, medium, small, and extra small. The opening diameter of 35mm is large (circumference about 110mm, width 55mm), 33mm is medium (circumference about 104mm, width 52mm), 31mm is small (width 49mm), and 29mm is special small.
Thickness of condoms
According to the thickness of condoms, they can be divided into ordinary, thin, and ultra-thin types. The single-layer wall thickness of a condom is generally 0.04-0.07mm, with the thinnest layer being 0.03mm.
Ordinary type (thickness 0.04-0.06mm), ultra-thin type (thickness 0.03mm), and thin type (thickness between the first two), ultra-thin type is a high-end transparent condom commonly used in China.
How to choose a suitable size condom?
Most domestic condom models are medium in size, with a nominal width of 52 plus or minus 2 millimeters (half of the opening circumference of the condom) on the packaging. If you don't know how to choose a condom model, you can first measure your genitalia based on the value of your erection. Most men in China are suitable for medium-sized condom sizes. So, generally when choosing condoms, you can directly purchase medium size. After a single use, if you feel too tight or loose, you can wrap a thin thread around the middle of the fully erect penis, measure the length of the thread, obtain the circumference of the penis, divide by 2, and based on this calculation, purchase an appropriate size condom.
Regardless, choosing the appropriate size is crucial. Because this has protection for both men and women.
