How long can perineal laceration heal? Postpartum mothers should pay attention to 7 points
Perineal laceration is a situation that we must pay attention to, especially after the maternal laceration, it must be immediately sutured. After treatment, attention should also be paid to daily care to promote rapid healing in multiple aspects.
How long can perineal tear heal
How long a perineal tear can heal depends on the degree of the maternal tear. For less severe wounds, the pain will subside in about 3-4 days, and there is sufficient blood supply near the vagina. As long as there is no bacterial infection, the wound can heal in about a week. If the postpartum woman has moderate perineal laceration, suturing is required. After one week of suturing, the suture can be removed, and care will take about a week thereafter. At this point, insufficient care can easily infect the wound and prolong the healing time of perineal lacerations.
Treatment of perineal laceration
In terms of treatment, if the infection of the perineal wound is shallow and small in area, it generally does not need to be re sutured. Simply soak in warm water and take antibiotics on time, and it will take about seven to ten days to recover. The way to soak in warm water is to first prepare a clean plastic basin, fill it with an appropriate amount of warm water, and add a small amount of iodine (about 5-10cc). Soak at least four times a day for fifteen minutes each time, which can drain the secretions from the wound and promote blood circulation. When the wound becomes relatively clean, the amount of iodine can be reduced or not used.
If the perineal wound is deeply infected or has a large area, it is necessary to remove the suture as soon as possible and fully open the wound, which can quickly and completely drain the pus and necrotic tissue. Then, soak in warm water four times a day and use intravenous antibiotics.
The timing of suturing the wound was previously believed to have to wait for 3-4 months, mainly because doctors believed that the wound must be completely cleaned and blood supply restored to normal after 3-4 months. However, the patient's waiting time here resulted in poor quality of life and psychological uncertainty. Therefore, doctors sutured the wound cleanly after 4-8 days of opening the wound
Prevention of perineal laceration infection
After natural production, welcome a new life with joy, don't forget to take care of yourself. Soaking four times a day for fifteen minutes at a time helps to absorb the wiring (doctors nowadays generally use absorbable wiring without removing the wiring), promotes blood circulation, helps wounds heal quickly, and avoids infection. It should be noted that when soaking in warm water, it is best not to add cleaning liquids sold on the market, as it can cause the wound to be too dry and the peeling wound to be more painful. Generally speaking, when the wound is not infected, use clean water.
