Genital wart is a common Sexually transmitted infection in our life. So what are the inspection items of Genital wart? How to check specifically? Let's take a look together.
Colposcopy examination
Helps to detect subclinical lesions, especially cervical lesions. After applying 3% acetic acid solution to the cervix, it can be seen that there are many finger like protrusions at the lesion site, and each protrusion has a central vascular ring under the translucent epidermis; Epithelial white light or white spots can be seen inside and outside the moving area, with uneven surface protrusions and punctate blood vessels resembling flower beds or small inlays. If the lesion is obvious and the surface is covered with burrs or coral like protrusions, after applying 3% acetic acid solution, the tissue edema turns white as snow.
Cytological examination
Hollow cells, poorly keratinized cells, or partially keratinized cells, as well as the outer bottom layer cells of genital warts, can be seen in cytological smears. This test has high specificity but low sensitivity.
Acetic acid test
3%~5% acetic acid solution is applied to the surface of the tissue. After 3-5 minutes, the infected tissue turns white and becomes positive, while the normal tissue color remains negative. However, when the skin is inflamed, the acetic acid test shows a false positive.
Pathological examination
Mainly squamous epithelial hyperplasia, with papillary growth, often accompanied by elongation and widening of the epithelial foot. Incomplete or excessive keratinization of surface cells; The highly proliferative spinous cell layer and hollowed out cells are characteristic changes of HPV infection. Basal cell hyperplasia, dermal papilla edema, Telangiectasia, surrounded by chronic inflammatory cell infiltration.
nucleic acid test
PCR and nucleic acid DNA probe hybridization can be used. These two methods can not only diagnose whether it is HPV but also determine the type of infection with HPV, which helps to identify and diagnose suspicious lesions in the tissue.
