Having children for many years after marriage is difficult, and most of the time it is a male problem
In the past, people often blamed women for the problem of not having children for many years after marriage. In fact, recent studies have shown that 60% to 70% of the "responsibility" of having no children for many years after marriage lies with men, which means that certain diseases in men are the cause of infertility. Therefore, if you have been married for 3 years and still have no children, not only women should be examined, but also men should be examined in detail.
Male infertility is relatively complex and cannot be determined by semen examination. Many unimaginable diseases can also lead to infertility. For each sperm, it takes 74.4 days, including 8 stages, to complete a cycle. The process of sperm formation requires gonadal stimulating hormones formed by the pituitary gland and gonadal stimulating hormone releasing hormones present in the hypothalamus to complete. If any link of these systems malfunctions, they cannot form good sperm, leading to infertility or poor fetal development. In addition, cryptorchidism (where the testicles do not enter the scrotum after birth) can also cause infertility if it is bilateral or if other parts are not suitable for sperm formation.
The effect of testicles and surrounding organs on male infertility
Epididymitis can narrow or even block the vas deferens, preventing sperm from passing through.
Varicocele causes obstruction of testicular blood flow, affecting testicular spermatogenesis or forming sperm abnormalities.
Prostate abnormalities, prostate infections, and structural abnormalities of the reproductive organs can reduce sperm production in the testes and lead to infertility.
Other diseases leading to male infertility
Diabetes is often accompanied by arteriolar lesions, resulting in decreased sperm production capacity.
Thyroid dysfunction is often a cause of male infertility, and the mechanism is still unclear.
Autoimmune diseases, such as testicles and surrounding organs, can cause barrier damage due to diseases, drugs, or chemical contamination, leading to denaturation of sperm antigens or influx of sperm antigen components into the immune system, triggering abnormal immune responses, producing anti sperm antibodies, and disrupting sperm function, leading to male infertility.
Various life factors affecting male infertility
Environmental pollution, high-temperature bathing, Chlamydia or Mycoplasma infections, excessive smoking and alcohol consumption, certain drugs (such as nicotine, various drugs, and antiepileptic drugs), and genital infections, as well as strong ionizing radiation and noise, can also lead to male infertility over time.
At present, married couples hope to have a baby, but if they have been married for more than 2 years and have been living together but have not yet given birth, they should go to the hospital for examination. In addition to examining women, men should also be examined. The male examination is not only to check the prostatic fluid, see the number and activity of sperm, but also to go to a regular hospital, check all the above items, determine the causes and carry out symptomatic treatment to solve the problem of male infertility.
