Drunkenness is generally an abnormal state in which the central nervous system is excited first and then suppressed because of excessive drinking. If you take an incorrect position to rest, you may have breathing difficulties and other symptoms, and even lead to respiratory and circulatory failure and even life-threatening in serious cases. In particular, the following three positions should not be taken by drunk people.
Horizontal position:
This is the posture that drunken people usually take. Drunken people tend to vomit, but the swallowing reflex and swallowing action of drunk people are relatively slow. At this time, if the drunk is lying on his back, the vomit is likely to return to the trachea and cause aspiration. Mild cases may cause inhalation pneumonia, serious cases may cause tracheal obstruction and suffocation.
Prone position:
Drunken people are mostly in a coma state, their muscles are loose and weak, and the support strength for changing positions is greatly weakened. In the prone position, the mouth and nose face down, often buried in the bedding or soft pillow, resulting in the obstruction of the mouth and nose breathing channels. In addition, the respiratory center of the deeply intoxicated person is inhibited to different degrees, and the respiratory action is greatly weakened. The body gravity also makes the chest and abdomen compressed, which further restricts the breathing. Many of the above factors may lead to insufficient inhaled air, make the body anoxic, and further aggravate the coma after being drunk.
Seating:
Due to the inhibition of internal circulation, the ability of cardiovascular reflex regulation is weakened, and vomiting, sweating, etc. can make the body lose a lot of water, and the blood volume in blood vessels is relatively insufficient, which is easy to lead to hypotension and shock. When blood pressure is low, sitting position is not conducive to the blood supply of the brain and the blood return of the lower body, resulting in more insufficient blood volume, further reducing the blood supply of the heart, brain, kidney and other vital organs.
Correct posture:
For drunken people, it is more important to maintain correct posture and prevent serious complications caused by improper posture after drunkenness. Therefore, we suggest that: first of all, you should untie the tie, button, belt, etc. of the drunk, lift your jaw, and tilt your head back to keep the respiratory tract unobstructed; Then take a lateral position to facilitate the drainage of vomitus and prevent suffocation caused by aspiration into the trachea. Finally, once the drunk is in danger, family or friends should send the drunk to the nearest hospital for treatment in time.
