Does cervicitis cause abdominal pain? Four major examination methods for accurate diagnosis
The emergence of cervicitis has caused great distress to many women, and we should also pay attention to its treatment methods, especially for the symptoms that patients may experience. We should promptly go to a regular hospital for reasonable examinations.
Can cervicitis cause abdominal pain
The main clinical manifestation of women who usually suffer from the disease is an increase in vaginal discharge, usually presenting as thick or purulent mucus, accompanied by a fishy odor, blood or sexual bleeding, itching or burning discomfort of the external genitalia, pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, sexual activity, physiological days, and defecation often accompanied by various symptoms such as conscious lower limb weakness, nausea, bitter mouth, and yellowing urine, which must be treated immediately.
Symptoms of cervicitis
1. Increased vaginal discharge: The main symptom of early cervicitis is an increase in vaginal discharge, sometimes the only manifestation. The symptoms of chronic cervicitis are characterized by blood lineage and small amounts of blood in the secretions, as well as contact bleeding. Irritation of vaginal discharge can cause itching in the external genitalia.
2. Pain: When inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvis, pain in the lumbosacral region, swelling sensation in the lower abdomen, and dysmenorrhea worsen during defecation and sexual intercourse.
3. Bladder and intestinal symptoms: Chronic cervicitis is transmitted through the lymphatic system or directly spreads to the trigone and surrounding connective tissue of the bladder. Urinary frequency and difficulty in urination occur in the bladder, but urine is clear and routine urine tests are normal. In some cases, inflammation continues to spread or passes through lymphatic connections between the cervix, bladder triangle, and ureter, leading to secondary urinary tract infections.
4. Vaginal bleeding: Under long-term stimulation of inflammation, the symptoms of cervicitis can cause local proliferation of the cervical mucosa, which has a drainage effect on the uterus. The proliferative mucosa gradually protrudes from the cervical opening, forming cervicitis polyps. When accompanied by polyp formation, bloody vaginal discharge or post sexual bleeding can occur.
Cervicitis examination
1. Cervical biopsy cytology examination: This is a routine examination for gynecological cervicitis, which is simple, feasible, cost-effective, and the most important auxiliary examination and prioritized initial screening method for cancer prevention examination.
2. Iodine test and naked eye observation method: This is very simple and inexpensive, and can detect at least 2/3 of the lesions. As a preliminary screening method for cervical cancer, apply 3% -5% acetic acid solution to the cervix. Observe the reaction of the cervical epithelium to acetic acid and perform biopsy in the white lesion area.
