Frequent urination, beware of prostatic hyperplasia
The concept of frequent urination in the precursor of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is defined as frequent urination when urinating more than 8 times in 24 hours, and frequent urination when staying up for a long time. If BPH is not treated in a timely manner, the first major problem encountered is difficulty in urinating, or even inability to urinate. What's more, it can lead to bladder stones, complicated with urinary tract infections, and affect renal function.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) has become one of the diseases that seriously affect the health of middle-aged and elderly men in China. As various new therapeutic drugs continue to enter the Chinese market, it will bring good news to the majority of patients.
Experts say that benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the enlargement of the prostate. The former is a medical term, and the latter is a common name for ordinary people. According to statistics, one out of every two elderly men over 60 years old in China has benign prostatic hyperplasia, which can cause lower urinary tract symptoms, including significantly increased urination frequency, weak urine flow, difficulty in emptying the bladder, and nocturia, and even cause serious complications, including acute urinary retention, reducing the quality of life of patients and affecting social life.
Experts also introduced that in China, the incidence of prostate incidence rate is more than 90% for elderly men over 80 years old. As China gradually enters an aging society, the number of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia is still rising year by year. According to authoritative surveys, in big cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, the incidence rate of men over 60 years old is as high as 63%, 54% and 40% respectively. Among them, the urban incidence rate is higher than that of rural areas, and the people who often eat high fat and high protein foods have faster BPH.
Experts have emphasized the concept of frequent urination in the precursors of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Those who urinate more than 8 times in 24 hours belong to frequent urination, and those who stay up for a long time also belong to frequent urination. If BPH is not treated in a timely manner, the first problem encountered is difficulty in urinating, or even inability to urinate. What's more, it can lead to bladder stones, complicated with urinary tract infections, and affect renal function.
