Careless menstruation can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease. Eight measures to prevent pelvic inflammatory disease should be kept in mind
The occurrence of pelvic inflammatory disease has a serious impact on women's lives, especially its harm to the body. It is important to pay attention to the causes of its occurrence and actively and reasonably prevent it in daily life.
Causes of pelvic inflammatory disease
1. Postpartum or miscarriage infection: The main cause of acute pelvic inflammatory disease caused by acute pelvic inflammatory disease is postpartum or miscarriage infection, infection after intrauterine surgery, poor physiological hygiene, and direct spread of nearby organ inflammation. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease causes acute endometritis and acute uterine myositis, acute salpingitis, tubal pus, tubal ovarian abscess, acute pelvic inflammatory disease, acute pelvic peritonitis, transfusion disease, and sepsis.
2. Physical differences: Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is often caused by incomplete treatment of acute pelvic inflammatory disease, or by poor physical condition and prolonged course of disease. It can cause the body to develop chronic salpingitis and hydrosalpinx, salpingoovarian inflammation and salpingoovarian cysts, and chronic pelvic connective tissue inflammation.
3. Pathogen infection: The main pathogens that cause pelvic inflammatory disease are Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, anaerobic bacteria, and sexually transmitted pathogens (such as gonococcus, Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma, and Herpesvirus).
4. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation: Women are prone to bacteria during menstruation. During menstruation, the endometrium falls off and there are clots, creating favorable conditions for the occurrence of bacteria. During this period, if women do not pay attention to their personal hygiene, or use substandard sanitary napkins, or live together, it will give them the opportunity for bacterial infections and cause pelvic inflammatory disease.
5. Spread of nearby reproductive system inflammation: If there is inflammation near the female reproductive system, these bacteria can directly spread and cause pelvic inflammation in women. Common nearby inflammations include appendicitis and peritonitis. If chronic cervicitis is not treated in a timely manner, inflammation can also cause pelvic inflammatory disease through lymphatic circulation.
Preventive measures for pelvic inflammatory disease
1. Pay attention to personal hygiene: wash the external genitalia, change underwear, do not wear tight fitting clothing, and do not wear chemical fiber underwear. It is prohibited to wash the vagina with hands and wash the external genitalia with soap.
2. Personal habits: Sexual activity, swimming, and bathing are prohibited during vaginal bleeding, such as during menstruation, after abortion, or after female surgeries such as ring removal.
3. Pay attention to sleep posture: Patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease are bedridden or unable to get up halfway, which is conducive to the limitation of inflammation and the discharge of secretions. During the treatment period, work and rest should be combined to avoid overwork and worsening the condition.
