Can vulvitis affect sexual activity? Inventory the three major treatment methods for vulvitis
Vulvitis is particularly common in our daily lives, and its occurrence has serious effects and harm on patients. After getting sick, we must promptly and reasonably treat it to prevent the severity of the condition.
The hazards of vulvitis
1. Impact on daily life: Severe inflammation of the external genitalia can cause diseases such as genital warts, genital herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomonas, and fungal infections, seriously affecting patients' lives and health.
2. Impact on sexual quality of life: Patients with acute inflammation may experience itching and burning sensation in the external genitalia, as well as swelling and congestion of the skin and mucosa of the external genitalia to a certain extent. In severe cases, erosion, ulcers, eczema, and other symptoms may occur, accompanied by painful urination and sexual intercourse, which can affect the quality of sexual life.
3. Infectious partner: In vulvitis, fungal vulvitis and trichomoniasis vulvitis have a strong infectivity, especially after sexual infection, if the patient engages in sexual activity without a cure, their sexual partner has a 50% chance of infection. Therefore, if a female friend suffers from vulvitis, it is necessary to treat it in a timely manner. It is best to treat both husband and wife at the same time to avoid sexual cross infection, which cannot be completely cured.
4. Impact on fertility: If patients with vulvitis are not treated in a timely manner, the spread of inflammation can cause secondary infections, affect the balance of the vaginal environment, and affect sperm survival rate. When the condition is serious, the patient's secretion contains a large number of white blood cells, which can engulf sperm, reduce sperm motility, shorten the survival time of sperm, etc., and have a certain impact on women's fertility.
5. Carcinogenesis: The occurrence of cancer, the spread of inflammation, the malignant transformation of the external genitalia, and ultimately the occurrence of cancer, especially in elderly women, with severe consequences that affect other organs of the human body. After infection with the virus, sexual activity spreads to others, affecting the health of children
Treatment of vulvitis
1. Local treatment: 0.1% povidone-iodine solution or 1:5000 potassium permanganate hip bath, twice a day, 15-30 minutes each time. After taking a sitz bath, apply antibiotic ointment and lavender oil. Alternatively, traditional Chinese medicine can be used to decoct, smoke, and wash the external genitalia 1-2 times a day. In the acute phase, microwave or infrared local physical therapy can also be used.
2. Etiological treatment: actively search for the cause of diabetes, treat diabetes immediately if found, and repair urinary fistula and fecal fistula immediately if found.
3. General treatment: Patients with vulvitis in the acute phase should try to reduce their activity as much as possible, and more severe patients should also rest in bed. In addition, they should pay attention to nutrition, enhance their resistance, and if necessary, take oral or intramuscular antibiotics targeting pathogenic bacteria. But it should be noted that antibiotics should not be abused, otherwise it is easy to have recurrent conditions and increase the difficulty of treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the symptoms of vulvitis and detect and treat symptoms as soon as possible.
