Adenomyosis is a common gynecological disease and one of the diseases that we need to pay attention to. If there are abnormal manifestations, they must be examined in a regular hospital.
Adenomyosis of uterus
Adenomyosis is a diffuse or localized disease caused by the invasion of endometrial glands and stroma into the myometrium, which is a common gynecological disease. Adenomyosis of the uterus used to occur in women over 40 years old, but in recent years it has shown a younger trend and is related to the increase in surgeries such as cesarean section and induced abortion.
There are many treatment methods for adenomyosis, and clinical decisions must be made based on the patient's age, symptoms, and fertility requirements. Often combined with comprehensive treatment plans such as surgery and medication.
Symptoms of adenomyosis of the uterus
1. Physiological pain: This is the most common symptom of adenomyosis, and patients generally experience secondary physiological pain. As the condition worsens, the pain becomes more pronounced. The degree of dysmenorrhea is directly proportional to the depth of endometrial invasion into the myometrium, as well as the density of endometrial stroma and glands in the myometrium.
2. Menstrual volume increase: The main symptoms are an increase in menstrual time and volume. Lesions in the uterine muscle wall directly affect the contraction of uterine fibers, and the blood sinuses cannot be closed when menstruation is open. The thickening of the inner wall of the uterus will gradually increase the area of the uterine cavity, and eventually be affected by estrogen and cause hyperplasia.
3. Uterine enlargement: In patients with adenomyosis, the uterus becomes larger, larger than 3 months of pregnancy, and appears as a diffuse spherical shape. However, the uterus becomes larger before and after menstruation, and then smaller.
4. The Pain of Couple Life: Desire decreases, and there is pain in the couple's life, which is obvious. Many women leave a shadow and refuse to live together, ultimately showing a decrease in desire and indifference.
Examination for adenomyosis of the uterus
1. Ultrasound examination: In recent years, ultrasound has been widely used to diagnose adenomyosis, with a diagnostic rate of 52.4%. The typical ultrasound image is: ① the uterus increases uniformly and appears spherical; ② There are multiple small cystic hypoechoic reflex in the myometrium; ③ The boundary between the uterine wall mass and the normal myometrium is unclear in the case of localized adenomyosis or hysteromyoma, and small cystic hypoechoic reflex can be seen in the myometrium. In addition, the size of the uterus undergoes periodic changes, with the uterus becoming larger during and after menstruation, and gradually decreasing thereafter.
2. Uterine iodine oil imaging: helpful in diagnosing this disease. A typical X-ray image is enlargement of the uterine cavity, where iodine oil enters the muscle layer from one or more parts of the uterine cavity, forming a spherical protrusion like a rest room. According to statistics, the positive rate of this examination method is only about 20%, so the presence of adenomyosis cannot be ruled out in the absence of the above manifestations.
