Are elderly men prone to prostate cancer? Three methods for effective treatment of prostate cancer
The occurrence of prostate cancer is closely related to diet structure and frequency. Do you know other factors of daily prostate cancer?
Causes of prostate cancer
1. Age: mainly elderly men
Prostate cancer mainly occurs in elderly men. In the United States, men over 50 years of age suffer from prostate cancer and prostate cancer, and men over 80 years of age have 50% of body reports.
2. Heredity: For men with a family history of prostate cancer, please note that the incidence rate of prostate cancer has also increased significantly.
3. Diet factor: control total calorie intake
Among the risk factors, the diet factor of prostate cancer is the prevention factor. Research shows that eating too much fat will greatly increase the incidence of prostate cancer, while soy protein and other foods can reduce the incidence rate of prostate cancer. Because excessive fat intake will lead to an increase in cholesterol synthesis, which will lead to an increase in androgen, which is an important risk factor for prostate cancer. Now people think that the proportion of fat in total dietary calories is ideal 10% - 20%.
The low incidence rate of prostate cancer in Asian countries is also related to the high intake of soybean protein. This food is rich in phytoestrogens, whose chemical structure is similar to that of estrogen in human body, and has certain inhibitory effect on androgens.
Treatment of prostate cancer
1. Surgical treatment
Surgical treatment is the preferred treatment for prostate cancer at present. However, due to the fact that most prostate cancer is found to be advanced, the best time for surgery was missed. Most of the patients with prostate cancer are elderly, and most of the radical prostatectomy operations are damaged. The indications and contraindications should be strictly controlled. In recent years, the newly developed minimally invasive treatment of urethral prostatectomy aims to reduce the degree of bladder neck obstruction, improve the symptoms of dysuria, and improve the quality of life of patients.
2. Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy has a good therapeutic effect on prostate cancer, which can significantly reduce the focus of prostate cancer. It is mainly used for patients who are difficult to resect or cannot resect but have remote metastasis. Radiation therapy is divided into internal radiation therapy, external radiation therapy and palliative radiation therapy, among which external radiation therapy is the most commonly used.
3. Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a common adjuvant treatment for advanced prostate cancer. It is mainly used for patients who have undergone surgery or local tumor elimination after radiotherapy. Use chemotherapy drugs to eliminate potential small lesions that cannot be detected at present. Chemotherapy alone cannot cure the primary lesion, and adjuvant chemotherapy can prolong the survival period of patients after surgery. The most sensitive chemotherapy drug for prostate cancer was found to be cyclophosphamide.
